Ironic that a lot of friends saying they have lost faith in the system due to the acquittal are the same people that threw a party when OJ got off.
System worked as it should have. Trump didn't commit an impeachable offense. While the rioting was an indirect result of his claims of fraud for 2 months, and of his rally to have people protest this, he specifically asked them to march down and peacefully protest. Their violent protest was due to their own choices, not any commands or implications from him.
Both impeachments were political stunts. To be honest, impeachment has been abused by both parties in modern times -- first in the Clinton impeachment, and now in the two Trump impeachments. All of them were a mistake and shouldn't have been done.
In the first impeachment trial of Donald Trump.
He was accused of Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress which he was clearly guilty of. It was on fucking tape.
In the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump.
He was accused of incitement of insurrection which he was clearly guilty of. Again it was recorded on fucking video. What more proof do you fucking need?
Donald Trump has become the only U.S. President in history to be impeached twice.
Unfortunately only a few Senators have the balls to convict this asshole. Thank you Mitt Romney.
Many of the Republican Senators who voted to acquit Trump, also voted back in 1998 against Bill Clinton. Fucking hypocrites.
best wishes to the family and lawyer of the DC cop that died 1-6-2021. get your money b4 Vornado CEO Stephen Roth runs a cram-down to force t**** org out and really crimps t****s cash flow.
Here's a bit of trivia for the whacked out libtards of PFA. The 5 people at the DC riot that died were all Trump supporters, even the cop.

This was something more than a game of shirts vs. skins. It was a test of whether the modern GOP is willing to turn its back on a fascist wannabe dictator who has zero respect for the Constitution that the GOPers so often loudly claim to cherish versus coddle him and his lies in order to avoid the short term pain of Trump unleashing his influence over his MAGA crowd to take political revenge on them. And most — but not all — GOPers in the Senate massively failed that test.
I posted this in the wrong thread earlier meant to put it here, going to repost it below......
"o.k so excuse me while I talk out loud here some...
Maybe connect a few dots on this one. For some reason maybe 5 or so years ago there was a user here named (LEVEL ACCOUNT). He and I small talked occasion iirc but I think he was from Michigan as is iirc 4D so I would actually compare these I.P addresses to that old "LEVEL ACCOUNT" persons use here. Initially I thought this was just a Sonatine dupe, we all know he isn't going to be able not to post here for very long, so maybe its a dupe for him. But for some reason I had this sorta 'epiphany' of sorts that maybe this is that LEVEL ACCOUNT person again, whoever that is lol. If I was a betting man, id prob go with a Sonatine dupe or that dude.
Druff you love this shit, figure it out and let us know =)"

Its true that I started posting recently. This seemed like an exquisite place to trash and make fun of the democrat party. So here I am.

January 6th was a disgrace. American citizens attacked their own government. They use terrorism to try to stop a specific piece of domestic business they did not like. Fellow Americans beat and bloodied our own police. They stormed the center floor. They tried to hunt down the Speaker of the House. They built a gallows and chatted about murdering the vice president. They did this because they’d been fed wild, falsehoods by the most powerful man on earth because he was angry. He lost an election. Former President Trump’s actions preceded the riot or a disgraceful dereliction of duty. The House accused the former president of quote “Incitement”. That is a specific term from the criminal law. Let me just put that aside for a moment and reiterate something I said weeks ago.
There’s no question, none, that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day. No question about it.
Are you really this gullible?
This was a highly political move by the Dems to create a win-win situation for their own political future.
If the GOP mostly went along with convicting Trump, then the party fractures badly, with the MAGA people believing the rest of the GOP to be traitors.
If the GOP mostly didn't go along with convicting Trump, then the Dems can hassle them for the next two years for "supporting an insurrection against Democracy".
This entire thing was nonsense because Trump never told anyone to attack the Capitol. He didn't commit any crime. You can't just make the leap from "dangerous rhetoric" to "call to commit acts of violence". The same could be said about Bernie's rhetoric about Republicans killing seniors with their healthcare plan, and then one of his supporters shooting up a Republican baseball game.
Was this impeachment a good political move by the Dems? Yes.
Were Republicans cowardly or unethical not to go along with it? No. The smart move was to reject it.
