Trump has already abandoned Pence, no reason for Pence not to do the same. Much more preferable would be an impeachment as he exits, where he could be permanently barred from holding any future elected office mere by a simple majority in the senate.
From my sources, Pence has been running the day to day functions of what a President should have been doing the last few weeks and especially today. I'd actually support Pence taking over until Jan 20. What Trump did today is inexcusable and impeachable. He needs to go. Now. I don't think anyone would object, except Trump.

In truth I can think of plenty of horrible things Trump did as President that are comparable to this, like pressuring government agencies to investigate political rivals. But if this gives Republicans an excuse to finally jump off the Trump train, then so be it.

Bottom line is nobody ever heard of her until Trump and April had an exchange like 4 years ago.
