Buehler has thrown the 3rd most pitches in the MLB this year.
That animal Scherzer is 26th. Surprised me.
Cardinals making the final 10 days of the wildcard race boring in the NL.
Now they just need to wait and see whether they go to SF or LA.
no one wants to play the cards right now
about 3 weeks ago my family were all supposed to go to a racetrack formerly named fairmont park, which is now a fanduel branded track and sportsbook to celebrate a bday
i was wanting to put a $100 or so on the cards to win the world series because it was +21000
anyway on the day we were supposed to go it rained all damn day so we decided to not go because it's like a 45 minute drive and we didn't even know if the races would go off
i hope hurricane ida? didn't cost me like $19k (it was +21000 on that friday but i think they won that night and the reds lost so on saturday it was +19000)
Hi Lew!!!
cards now 30-1 to win the WS now on fan duel
not driving 45 minutes in the rain to Illinois is going to haunt me
Hi Lew!!!
Weird story.
A woman and her 2-year-old child were killed when both fell over the railing of the third deck of Petco Park in San Diego.

This occurred shortly before the start of the game. It's not clear if she did this on purpose, or if she accidentally fell over while holding her child. Sad, but also strange.
Oh, and the Giants are a stunning 52-28 away from home. I don't remember the last time I saw an away record like that. Maybe one of those really dominant Yankees or Mariners teams?
Dodgers now 100-56, and trail the 102-54 Giants by two games.
If the Dodgers go 4-2 and still finish second, they will be the best second-place team in the division era, which began in 1969. Previously, the 1993 Giants (103-59) held that title, finishing 1 game behind the Atlanta Braves, who were oddly in the NL West.
There has also never been a 105-win second-place team in all of MLB history. However, note that MLB played 154 games for a long time, so there were a few teams with better records than 105-57 which didn't win 105 games. However, prior to the divisional era, each league had 10 teams, so it was much easier to have a really good second place team.
Druff I’m sure as a Dodgers fan you find this frustrating, and rightfully so. But think about that 1993 Giants team. They had a 10 game lead at the All-Star break, and then the Braves traded for Fred McGriff and went on an absolute tear down the stretch to come back and win the division on the last day of the season. So the Giants who had the MVP in Bonds got to sit home and watch the Braves shit the bed in the playoffs once again.
This was the last season before they split the two divisions in each league into 3 and added 1 wild card team. Giants definitely got screwed that year.
I remember that season well. Definitely made it more like exciting knowing only one of those two teams would even make the playoffs and that the team that did was already in the NLCS.
The 90’s Braves and the 2010’s Dodgers comparison Sheeface. It okay. It’s natural.
Endless pieces have been done about the Braves failure. 14 Division titles and 1 World Series. MLB Channel did “You can’t blame Bobby Cox”. 30 for 30 will do a “You can’t blame Clayton Kershaw”.
It’s that time of year. Buckle Up.
Dodgers had a nice lead at the All Star break in 1991, and a similar thing happened. Braves caught them at the very end, and finished 1 game ahead to win the NL West.
Will Clark, who was playing for the Giants who played spoiler for the Dodgers in the final series, famously said to the media, "Do I feel sorry for the Dodgers? Ha ha ha ha ha."
The collapse of the '91 Dodgers in the second half foreshadowed the struggles of the '92 team, which lost 99 games, and was the worst Dodgers team in modern history.
The Dodgers of '93 -- a .500 ballclub -- did manage to beat the Giants on the final day of that season, after losing the first 3 of a 4-game series. That was kinda-sorta some revenge, which also allowed the Braves to finish first.

Okay. Now I’m starting to think I have a shot. I’m starting to care and that usually results in pain.
Once the writers grow accustomed to the fact neither Harper of Soto play for a winning team common sense and the numbers should win out for Soto
There will be writers who will not vote for my Ohtani so there is an element of politics and nonsense one must always fade.
Ride. If it’s a battle between players on losing teams. Soto has the meats. If the Phillies make the playoffs I’m hedged with a Phillies division winner future. The only way the Phillies get in the playoffs is by overtaking Atlanta for the division crown.
What is more important to me is the politicking now by influential folk for Soto. I received the 16 year old Bryce Harper Sports Illustrated cover in the mailbox. (Dad tied our horses to this same mailbox after we rode into town). So the hype never really squared with how it unfolded for him. People love prospects.
