You just don't get comedians like this any more. I guess a stand up Eddie Murphy from the 80s was money, but you never get these type of performances anymore. I was on a cruise a couple weeks ago, and the comedian on board was just cringe worthy. It was weird, I actually sat next to him at the lobby bar at 9am drinking one of those $10 coffees (cruises are a rip off). Anyway his gimmick was how he lost 100 lbs, it was not a funny bit but I stroked his ego and said how funny it was. Anyway, I asked him how tough it was to lose the weight, and he honestly admitted it was not true, it was material given to him by a writer and he does the cruise circuit 10 months a year and needs to update his material all the time. I was like that makes sense because it was terribly unfunny. Now I did not say that, but you get the point, comedians like Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy, even Jerry Seinfeld, just don't exist anymore.Originally Posted by tgull
Not saying Katt Williams is as good as Pryor or Murphy but he is definitely funny.
