The game got canceled I am pretty sure. She was supposedly going to kick, but I am guessing they knew all along the game was going to be cancelled so just fake publicity stunt.

Vandy was never going to score against Georgia anyways, so she would have only kicked on one kickoff anyways, so not missing much regardless.

There has already been female kickers in Div 1 college football. You might as well congratulate Zion Williamson for breaking the color barrier if you are going to buy this story.

Also, the position is kicking a football. It doesn’t require any great athletic feat. The main skills are more about technique, concentration and handling pressure. There is no reason a skilled female couldn’t handle being a FG kicker, although they probably wouldn’t have the 55+ yard range of the top male kickers.

She kicked an XP vs Tennessee...but they used the punter to kick a FG and kickoff...a short FG at that.

The story is that due to Covid, they had no kickers eligible, which was technically true. However, the punter can kick so it was a bit of a publicity stunt....I don’t know if she was considered the backup to the punter or what.
