    Dog advice needed

Have my puppy Daschund/bkackmouth Cur mix rescue dog. Father was a daschund looks like a hot dog, keeps pissing. I take him out few minutes later he does a tinkle(Not Long pee). Taking him every 2 hours he goes 2 or 3 times in the house. Any tips ? Previous dog a lab was trained in about a month.

How old is the pup? General rule is they need to go out as often as old they are in months, so 2 months every 2 hours, 3 month every 3 hours etc.

The kicker is doxies are known to be chronic pissers and hard to potty train, so it will take much longer and some remain pissers their whole life.

Is he fixed? Are you crating the dog?

Sounds like he's just marking your house up so that everyone knows who the boss is.

If it’s a true puppy under 1 year, you can expect accidents until he matures. If he’s a year or two have him checked for a bladder infection.

I just raised a female rott who’s 2 now and my male is 1.5 years old.

get it a indoor pee pad so if it has to go and can't wait till RHOC is over it knows were is appropriate, nothing worse than finding a pee spot after it has been marinating for two weeks, hard on the wood floors or carpet. young dogs have a tendency to pee if they get exited or nervous.

We had labrador pure breed he was potty trained in 1 month but ran the household, barking any time food was served etc. This one is very patient does not bark even when knows food is being provided for him. He is six months old. we have hardwood and carpets , he likes to go on the carpet. Its dark so doesn't show after accident. Going to get a steam vacum cleaner. What is rhoc? will check into indoor peed pad thanks for the advices. We learned from the Lab the mistakes made I think this guy has potential very smart dog.

I doubt that any comedian would touch the subject of the dog ownership fad and live.

True story, when I was 7 or so I would spend one weekend a month with my grandparents. They had a Dalmatian that was unruly and one afternoon he chewed the leg off a chair off. Next month I was there and asked where the dog was and my grandfather simply said he ran away and they could not find him. LOL.

Maybe he needs more time. My female was potty/crated trained in 6 months but my male took over a year. He would pee on carpet if given the chance
