So, I think Druff’s argument was that voters are afraid of all the rioting and BLM and stuff, and that’s why Dems didn’t gain in the Senate and lost seats in the house.
I guess these right wing marches, or whatever you want to call them, doesn’t scare anybody, right? You talk to a kid in the inner city, he’s scared of the cops. You feel me? Your one Democrat friends opinion is not the barometer for how everybody else feels.

I used to live in a city with the highest homicide rate, year after year. Due to my work at the time, I would occasionally be in a relaxed one on one environment with a retired or off duty police officer working security. Where casual conversation was made. On a few occasions they said something racist. Nothing said in response.
I found a recent one year stat for the homicide rate of this city, which was hard to track down due to people not wanting to express the numbers in this way, but African Americans were responsible for 68% percent of murders in the city, and represented 11% of the population. And that's with a murder rate which is 11 times the national average.
Are African Americans murdering people at an unprecedented rate in this city? What conclusions do you draw there? If you read the media, it's due to poverty and socioeconomic factors. There's no blame placed upon anything else. Are the police and system to blame? Don't get me wrong, slavery, and it's reverberations, which we won't see the end of for a millennium, are incredibly hard to overcome. But when does the black community look within and address its own shortcomings?
Is it fucked up to be racist, in addition to being a police officer? Yes. But where was that borne from? It's a shitty situation, but as long as the crime rate is skewed so acutely towards being perpetrated by one race, the police officers will employ experience based racism when their lives are on the line day in and day out. You may teach them to be sensitive to the hardships, but until the crime rates balance equally, they would be naive not to profile.
Why is there no narrative of black culture looking inward? Do lives matter to blacks?
And that's the foundation of a Trump Sympathizer. Combine this with the notion that people will be deplatformed, attacked and banished for saying such things, and you start get an idea of the mounting hostility.
