So I was going with him as a courtesy, plus give me an outdoor venue on the water with alcohol and I can enjoy even a shitty local band.
Totally blown away by the disparity between really not loving their albums and finding the live show amazing. Real cult following singing along to every word. Reminded me of like an educated suburban 2022 deadhead crowd.
So Seth Avett(married to Deb from Dexter irl as random trivia) did this Jim Croce cover. Just killed it. Also had the benefit of being the only song I knew the lyrics to despite loving the entire set. Really shocked how much i enjoyed it. Certainly a band meant to be seen live.
It's interesting. I found myself in a recording studio for some reason way back and was overwhelmed by the talent
in front of me. The music was not my fare (sounding so gay here) but there is no denying the skills when they are up front.
This clip kind of demonstrates that. Talent is special.
