Three things you may not know about Roy Orbison:
1) He was not blind. The sunglasses were a style decision.
2) One of his biggest hits was released when he was not alive. "You Got It" was released after he died, in 1989.
3) While he was only 52 when he died, his death was not as much as a shock as you might think. In November 1988, he confided in Johnny Cash that he was having chest pains, but didn't want to interrupt his hectic schedule of performing and recording the video for "You Got It" to get it checked out. He performed in early December 1988, despite feeling unusually tired and ill while doing so. On December 6, just two days after his last performance, he died of a heart attack. Had he seeked treatment for the chest pain a few weeks earlier, it's possible he wouldn't have died when he did.
One thing you didn’t know
Innocuous and banal television was to Gen X what rock music was to the Boomers, Limitles.
Your feelings for the Beatles and Dylan is similar to those Druff has for Family Ties and Cosby
