DesertRunner, the guy with his mask down, what to you think of his gun hold?
What i like is that he has taken cover as best he can before shooting...indeed, I believe Jim Cirillo touted getting to cover quickly is as important at drawing quick. And he is aiming downrange...also, his booger hook is off the bang switch, so neg fire isn't possible at the moment.
Admittedly the guy is in a difficult position and had to adapt the hold to conditions, but his hold is one handed, and there is a lot of bend at the wrist. I try to shoot with the barrel aligned with the radius bone in my shooting arm, as much as possible anyway. Thus, the recoil is controlled/absorbed by stronger arm and shoulder muscles rather than just by the weaker muscles of the wrist...result is less displacement of sights from the target due to firing, and I am back on target faster for a follow shot.
and yes, one should practice shooting from less than ideal positions, as one usually won't have time set up ideally.

I think he is good, but at the moment, he is strong arm (right) only, which is fine, where is his left arm OR we just cant see it? What do you think?DesertRunner, the guy with his mask down, what to you think of his gun hold?
Nailed it and very impressive thoughts, youre clearly trained and know shooting. Thank you for offering up some info here. What i like is that he has taken cover as best he can before shooting...indeed, I believe Jim Cirillo touted getting to cover quickly is as important at drawing quick. Ahhh, you saw the one arm too, ok, good. Damn, bro, you have alot of knowledge, way impressive. Good call again. how many different positions would you recommend? I am guessing sitting, one knee and standing.and yes, one should practice shooting from less than ideal positions, as one usually won't have time set up ideally.
Awesome post and good information, sounds like you have some training. Have you been to Front Site by chance?
Thanks for your review. I hope others read this dialogue and pick up a few ideas about self defense with firearms. Looking at pictures and videos of shooting incidents provides a mental rehearsal for emergency reaction and can make a difference in surviving.
I've only had target shooting instruction....knowledge of tactics have come only from reading books and viewing online videos.

Guys now is the time to double down on ammo, since we got all of our firearms now. Especially 7.62mm. POWW is now the official Ammo of PFA. Thanks.
