Guys hate SSRIs and SNRIs because it often causes impotence (for as long as you're on the meds).

Sometimes it subsides after time on the meds, sometimes it doesn't. Some are forced to use Viagra when they have sex.

That's actually a big reason I stayed away from that route. That plus it's sometimes hard to find the right one and dosage which works for you, and it takes 2+ weeks each time to figure it out, during which you often get terrible side effects. And that's the last thing I needed when my symptoms were already very severe.

I also didn't want to get myself on a long-term, habit-forming solution if it was possible to solve my issue in the short term (which I wasn't sure about yet, but thought was still possible -- and indeed it was).

Likely though it was Buprenorphine. Different thing. In EU it was sold with the brand name Subutex.

Was about to say this. Actually my clients have started to switch to sublocade which will be a game Changer in the opioid agonist department. Not having to worry about medication compliance or carries is huge. Will be intersting to see if it’s as effective as people say.

At first glance seems like good idea.

Namely, if it's given once a month, it diverts many problems of methadone and Subutex/Suboxone. Enabling relatively normal life without risk and/or temptation of selling your script.

Here in the early 2000s Subutex replaced heroin in the streets for at least a few years. Trade was halted from Afghanistan and that was the main supplier of heroin at the time.

You likely know that even pure Heroin works. I think Swiss did that. For political and certain logistic reasons it's not really popular. Way patents work it's still likely the cheapest method.

For you Benzos were likely better.

Wellbutrin and Mirtazapin are options for people with sexual dysfunction related to SSRIs. Off the top of my head i think only 30% have any issues with that from SSRIs. Something like that, common but still less than half.

Wellbutrin actually increases sex drive especially with women. Kinda tried to dodge mentioning that in case that's what Texter's daughter was subscribed.
