Guessing HasanAbi set it up...

that hasan guy is the biggest political streamer in the game rn
She ended up peaking at 439k concurrent viewers. For context, that is the 5th all-time highest viewership for an individual stream, the record being 616k.
Among Us is a multiplayer social game, and every other person playing it (except Omar, probably) was also streaming the very same match from their own perspective. If you take that into account, AOC's numbers could be deflated. Pokimane was averaging 91k, Jacksepticeye was averaging 44k, and so on.
Either way, one of the biggest events in Twitch history. I wonder how effective this type of GOTV initiative really is though.
Vod is at 5m views. Dunno if it does too much about voting for this election cycle but AOC 2024 is looking better every day. She's one of the few people that can make moves towards young voters without being seeing as "hip with the kids".
I've liked her ever since her own campaign poster were modeled after soviet kitsch. It's just a bonus how dangerous the right sees her. If they weren't soiling their pants they'd spend a lot less time in attacking her with the usual combination of demeaning and vastly disproportionate reactions to more or less everything she does.
Just a dumb bartender that's also an existential threat to everything that's pure and honest.
Might have something to do with young people voting for young people.
Badly remembered Twitter numbers that roughly sets the scale.
Something like 10% of all US voters use Twitter. About 10% of them produce 80% of all the tweets. Your feed is curated by algo's on what's most likely to keep you on the site. The algo's favor tweets that get traction that increases their traction. The end result is that your feed is skewed beyond belief.
If you personally skew even mildly to the left, all you see is mostly echo chamber. That 10% that produces 80% skews young and left.
If you skew right, there's still enough to give you a warm and fuzzy feeling that your side is there.
How any of this meshes with actual voter demos is likely skewed for everyone. That's kinda what algo's are there for. There's a small sub-clause for controversial. If foaming at the mouth keeps you on the site, that's also what you're going to see. Controversial gets bumped on feeds. Doubt anyone sees anything moderate with this system.
Fairly sure it stretches to all of social media. FB has more reach but their algo's are similar. IG is more fluff and TikTok is even more superfluous. Incidentally AOC has most reach out of any US politician to either platform. My random guess is that's good effort to keep her re-elected, but unless any real pain breaks through boomers will still keep her of the throne.
Real pain is the one thing that can break her through. There's 2 crashes that are built in to the system and dollar cratering as result or cause for levees breaking. Currently we're on untested waters. Maybe modern monetary theory is true or that it can stand some threshold of stress. We don't really know and it's in everyone's best interest to not find out.

She streamed again last night, raised $200k. There was less hype leading up to this one (I didn't even hear about it until today) and she pulled in "only" 103k peak concurrent viewers.

Trust me, conservatives hope she runs for President and wins the primary in '24 or '28.
Slam dunk.
AOC is not running for President in 2024.
She may go after New York U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer seat in the next election though.
