I felt deceived but I realized that tthis is reality of business. Some people are promoters and some people are operators and owners. Usually they are different. Usually they don't go out of their way to explain to potential customers who is who and how they operate. Is a slot channel business supposed to be any different? Are we really supposed to pretend here that people don't do things on youtube for money as a business?
There are some similarities between the two, but the main issue here is different.
SlotLady isn't a paid promoter. For example, if she was making ads claiming, "I play slots all the time at Caesars! Come down and join me!", and then it came out that she barely played there, I wouldn't feel ripped off. Why? Because a paid promoter making claims about their love of a product/service/business needs to be taken with a grain of salt, and most people learn that during childhood. Even as a kid, I figured that James Garner didn't carry around a Polaroid camera wherever he went.
However, this is a different story. The entire theme of her channel was basically "Fairly hot chick plays slots by herself". In reality, she wasn't playing by herself, and there was a lot of effort put forth for 4 years to conceal the involvement of her longtime boyfriend.
So while she really was playing the slots she showed on the channel, the entire implied premise of it being a solo venture was a lie.
As I said several times, this isn't a scam or a major scandal. Nobody got cheated, and nobody got hurt. However, it was a clear lie by omission, to the point where her boyfriend adopted a female persona in the chat room in order to hide the truth. They should just come clean, admit it, and then move forward with it as a channel featuring a slot playing couple. Anything short of that is insulting to the viewer.
