I do not own any RED products, but if I did I would certainly brag about it!MumblesBadly: Stop bragging about your camera gear.
But I have worked on a shoot that used them. The workstation I posted earlier could just barely handle editing that raw footage.

I just recently upgraded to a 34" ultrawide 1440p 144hz 1ms monitor. In addition, I do more than game on it, I edit videos and I'm looking at doing streaming of gameplay as well, so I do need the power to do it all on one rig (my quad-core system struggled in some newer titles if I wanted max settings and couldn't handle streaming in high quality while I play as well). With the accessibility to more RAM, more cores and more GPU power these days, games and programs are being designed to take advantage of the additional power. So I bought my system such that I wouldn't have to worry much for a bit to handle everything.
No, you don't need a $1,500 GPU, I don't have one. I wouldn't mind having one, but most likely I'll be looking in the $500-1K range. Shooting for the new 16GB ATI cards that are on the horizon or perhaps an RTX 3080 Ti 20GB in January.
Also, even Henry Cavill built his own PC
