Also kid rock is a snowflake
The first film was a critical and commercial hit, taking $262m worldwide, winning a Golden Globe for Baron Cohen and an Oscar nomination for its screenplay. In 2009, the Guardian named the film the second best film of the noughties.
Last year, it emerged that Pamela Anderson’s role in the film so incensed her then husband, Kid Rock, that he filed for divorce. Whether the former Baywatch star reappears in the sequel is not known. The level of involvement of director Larry Charles or studio 20th Century Fox, which has since been bought by Disney, is also unknown.
quite frankly, that movie enriched my childhood and informed my sense of humor greatly. I really, really like sacha baron cohen.
Sascha Baron Cohen is funny, but like many other comedians on the left, he has succumbed to political bias in recent years, and now it seems his work is just a hit piece on Republicans and Christians.
His earlier work was a lot funnier, even though it also skewed left politically. He would create funny and awkward situations by asking inappropriate questions to politicians (under the guise of a foreigner who doesn't know better), as well as show examples of average folks acting in a foolish or reprehensible fashion in response to his character's antics.
(I also think some of the "regular people" were plants, and scenes were staged in some cases, but that's a different story.)
But now the entire approach seems more political and mean-spirited -- kind of like a left-wing version of Project Veritas, with some humor injected.
It's sad that with a lot of ridiculous people and political figures on both sides of the aisle, Cohen will only subject one of those sides to his treatment. Like, can you imagine how funny a segment between him and AOC could be? Would absolutely never happen, because the #1 rule in modern comedy is you don't make the left look bad or foolish.
druff telling sasha cohen how to be funny is like t-shirt quote level good.
"Birds born in a cage think flying is an illness." - Alejandro Jodorowsky
"America is not so much a nightmare as a non-dream. The American non-dream is precisely a move to wipe the dream out of existence. The dream is a spontaneous happening and therefore dangerous to a control system set up by the non-dreamers." -- William S. Burroughs
I know you like echo chamber comedy so you can laugh at "Team Retard" and "rubes" and affirm your political choices while feeling morally superior.
I prefer comedians who aren't terrified to make fun of their own side because it might "help Republicans".
It didn't use to be this way, and you're old enough to remember that.
I can’t think of a conservative who is genuinely funny, and that’s because their “humor” is entirely contingent upon demeaning and belittling groups of vulnerable people who they perceive to be beneath them.
Just to be clear, I'm cool if he wants to make fun of conservatives, just don't limit it to that.
Many things about society progress over time, and that's good.
However, things can also regress, and sometimes mistakes of earlier generations can be repeated when most people alive didn't experience them before. Comedy is one of those areas.
Right now, we are in an era where comedy is under attack, and you're only allowed to make fun of left-approved topics (mainly Christians and right wingers).
Comedy is about pushing the envelope and saying what others are thinking but afraid to utter. That's what all the great comedians did in modern history.
There were not off limits topics, and there was no pressure to leave certain "good" or "correct side" politicians/figures/concepts alone.
Today comedy is under pressure to not inadvertently help Trump of Republicans by showing the ridiculous sides of the left, so that part is simply left out. And heaven forbid you make a joke about gays, trans people, women, or minorities. That's definitely not allowed.
Very sad. And I say this as a guy whose first college radio show was playing comedy routines and song parodies from 1955 to the then-present of 1991.
wow mr thick skin comedy critic wants equal roast time for everyone but keeps tyde banned.

I'm not sure what the objection is to what I'm sayng.
Are you lefties saying that comedians SHOULDN'T insult your side of the aisle, and comedy should only make fun of Republicans & white Christians?
Do you not think that Sascha Baron Cohen has the talent to make funny segments about extreme leftists and idiotic leftist poiticians? Because I think he most definitely does, and it disappoints me to see that he's afraid/unwilling to do it.
