I wonder what the exact reason is for this.
This will be somewhat of a loss to sportsbettors in the US, as they offered some good reduced juice lines, albeit restricted to $250 each.

What isn't clear to me is what they're doing about long term props.
What if you have pending props for, say, the MLB World Series champion? That will happen after September 30. So is your bet cancelled? That doesn't sound very fair if you have a team which has increased in value.
There have been growing number of indictments involving offshore books. Many owners will never stop foot again back in the US because they know they will be hauled right in. This for sure has a lot to do with money that offshore books cost the regulated online books and of course taxes. I know it is only a handful or so of states as of now, but the writing is on the wall. To give up this much revenue they must of had a good reason. Maybe the DOJ reached out and said you can step way or keep going. This is a pretty backward ass way to say that we are done. It seems like they are.
Behind door number 1 you can operate in the shadows doing all the illegal money shit the USA hates and sends people to “fuck you in the ass prison” where you have to hide in cost rica for the rest of your life where you are a Multi millionaire.
Behind door number 2 you take all of your Ill gotten gains over the past 25 years pay off all the right people to “make it Right” Open up a legal book with all the AML shit in tow and operate in the light. You can now travel the whole world without fear and instead of being a cash millionaire looking over your shoulder you can operate above board with investments and not have to worry about going to jail, all the while you are still filthy rich.
They thumbed their nose for a really long time at the US? You think that’s a real option? I have no idea. I’m genuinely asking. Maybe the owners death gave his successor some room to make overtures?
I am reading they are offering to transfer balances over to some new site that looks exactly the same in a Bodog/Bovada sort of way. Like it’s still them.

I wouldn't doubt this is more of an "administrative" change rather than an all out exclusion from the market, a la the example above.
It also may mean someone who is in a regulated overseas market may have made a play for the 5Dimes IP, so it needs to clear itself of the unregulated hurdles to grace their brand back into these markets.

They were affiliated with a shity pokerroom, dragon something I believe.
This thread surprises me in that nobody offered the possibility that 5Dimes might be positioning themselves to enter the US legal market in partnership with someone else.
The BetCRIS Raptors Nets line mistake 2 weeks ago plainly showed every US legal book and I meant everyone was just mimicking offshore (BetCHRIS’) lines. Like minute by minute. Legal books are incapable of originating their own lines as they are afraid of sharp action.
You know all this badguy.
5Dimes was kind of a family business though. RIP. How did the 5Dimes Group handle things with Tony’s demise? I suppose it’s possible absent active family ownership the wise move would be to sell.
I’m convinced BetCRIS gonna wade into the legal market in partnership with some other more acceptable brand. The notion that folks ain’t gonna set foot on American soil is silly to my ears. Light regulation and trade associations lulz.
How’d regulators deal with the Mike Postle fiasco? My favorite recent regulatory embarrassment. Didn’t follow too closely but I have a pretty good guess they did nothing. Casino commissions are trade associations.
None of this makes me happy. I like things just the way they are.
Nothing good ever comes from regulation.
Thread is weak sauce. Apply yourself next time and repost.

The timing of this announcement and the way 5Dimes is handling futures and their recent behavior tells the real story IMO.
They picked September 25 as the last day to withdraw funds literally two days before all winning MLB win total futures would have been graded and no more than a week before NBA Finals futures would have been settled. This way they don't have to pay out any winning bets but they can collect on losers.
They make the announcement at a time when tons of people are depositing to place NFL bets and futures and forcing them to complete a 1x rollover. If you were a book and you wanted to pick a set of dates to maximize the amount of money you could steal without outright confiscating customer accounts you could hardly pick better ones than making the announcement September 7 and ending transactions with US customers on September 25.
The fact that this happened right after a period where no one was betting for over four months is no coincidence. Like a lot of businesses 5Dimes likely was operating very close to the margins they had a lot of debt that they would have been able to pay back in time except in the case of a huge crisis.. Then when the crisis hits and Tony is dead and the feds are on your ass there is no money.
Get your money out and just chalk it up as a loss..
They are refunding parlays were 3 legs already won on 4 teamers because the 4th leg won't be settled until after Sept 25th??
That's shady as hell they should make it a 3 teamer.
I don't buy they are going legal or coming back to the USA if they were no way in hell would they be handling this the way they are.
RIP Tony these pos ruined your book.
Druff this is what your sites for I'd be looking into this more because they are robbing players right now.

badguy raises some good points here. This handling of the futures really is shady, and totally perverts the entire concept of futures. It invites the ability for them to freeroll futures, as they can "shut down" again if it looks like they're going to take a bath on futures.
The parlay thing is really horrible if that's how they're handling it.
Wow. That brings things into focus.
We forget how desperate things were at the height of the crisis for the books. You have a rudderless ship and simultaneously a near impossible business challenge perhaps you become a casualty.
Wonder what the status of the estate was? Could Tony’s old lady sell if she wanted to? 20/20 hindsight.
1000% they are handling it that way. I have 4 tix i can show you.
This is a freeroll for sure.
They now stopped the betanysports thing
These guy's def are under some kind of heat from the feds.. Probably cuz what happened to Tony
Tony wouldn't talk to you on the phone ever!! These nut's let the Feds in when he went missing.
Guy's rolling over in his Grave.
