I don't know about this latest Nash video.
Tom seems to be stretching a bit. The intro to the video claimed "investor fraud", but once he got into details.... not so much.
Tom has been obsessed with this whole concept that Bilzerian is committing some kind of horrible, illegal act by buying Instagram followers. His rationale is that Dan's brand (and value to IGNITE) is based upon having a gigantic Instagram following. Therefore, Tom says that if Dan bought followers, he is defrauding investors, because that means his following is fake.
But that's a pretty huge leap. Just because you buy followers doesn't mean that you don't ALSO have a huge legitimate following. Is Nash really trying to make the case that Bilzerian's Instagram following is small, and that his 36 million "followers" are almost all fake? I don't believe it. Bilzerian is famous in the first place because of his Instagram notoriety.
It's only investor fraud if Dan pitched X number of followers as a reason to invest, and the actual number Y of real followers is orders of magnitude less than X.
For example, let's say 6 million of the 36 million followers are fake. Does that change anything? Obviously not. So there's definitely no fraud. Bilzerian can still say he has a gigantic Instagram following, and be telling the truth.
Also, who knows if the claims about Bilzerian stiffing the fake follower company are true? They came from an account called
realweb_official. Can these people be trusted? Who knows? The account only has 6 posts, and only 11k followers. It doesn't seem to be a huge player in the fake content industry.
Clickbait getting pretty strong here.
