i'm being highly stereotypical here but i asusme most of these players grew up in the projects and came from absolutely nothing.

Some of them definitely come from the hood but almost all of these guys are identified at a very young age as an NBA prospect and are taken out of those homes to live with an AAU coach or some rich family in the suburbs. They get treated like Princes and never want for anything. It’s a messed up system imo as a good portion of these kids never make it and are just abandoned but you never hear about it.

You can’t paint with too broad of a brush here as there are some kids who truly had to struggle to make it but the majority of these guys don’t know how the real world operates and have no life skills outside of basketball.
