The switcher is in fact set in the correct position for the train to come towards you without derailing.

It looks like Belly Buster is indeed correct, however, the track switcher part of my statement was secondary to the train being parked, thus I still retain my B average.

Train was stopped on the tracks and wasn't running for at least a few hours.

The front light was left on.

As I crossed the tracks, I stopped and took a picture, making it appear I was playing chicken.
