Drowned in a jacuzzi. Drugs were "not found at the scene" but that doesn't mean much. He had a well documented drug problem in the past.
Jacuzzis can be dangerous if alone, as the heat can make fainting more likely, and if there's no one around, drowning is possible.
Harry Hollywood had an indirect connection to Friends. I just texted him and asked what he has heard.

Guy was worth over $100M but could not shake the pill habit. Druff is right, you are in a Jacuzzi for longer than an hour, you are in deep trouble. Couple that with drugs its a certain drowning. Always a chance though he had a heart attack, like Luke Perry mid 50s is the danger zone. But a Whitney Houston scenario is more likely at this point. He looked like shit on that Friends family reunion a couple years ago. RIP.

Heat exhaustion and dehydration coupled with a weak heart due to years of drug use is what killed James Gandolfini in Italy. Same thing, Cardiac Arrest.
Perry spent 30 years battling Oxys and Vicodin. I would assume that probably led to a weak heart. Couple in an intense workout it can lead to a heart attack/arrest. Who knows. I saw maybe 1 episode of Friends in my life.

6:02 PM PT -- More details are surfacing about the circumstances surrounding Matthew Perry's death ... as sources tell us he actually died at his own house after some physical activity this morning.
If that is the case, I am not sure how just about every media outlet got it wrong earlier. Of course, his house could have a hot tub.
What I read was he played pickleball in morning, got home, sent assistant on errand, and assistant found him in jacuzzi when they returned.This is the update:

The update says at his house and does not mention in the jacuzzi or drowning.
If that were the case, one would think TMZ would change the headline of their article, where it says apparent drowning. I am not sure why you think his house would not have a jacuzzi. You seem to be dug in that his house does not have one.

“Friends” star Matthew Perry was found dead Saturday in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home, law enforcement sources said. He was 54.
Quite apparent after 2 hours of pickleball, he hopped in his hot tub to relax, and had a heart attack and probably submerged. Whether drugs were involved directly we'll find out in a few weeks.
