Sahara takes VitalVegas to task for saying they're going to close

Vital Vegas has been known to act irresponsibly at times, tweeting out lots of false rumors without doing any kind of sanity check. Sometimes they're correct and calls something before it happens, but they're also wrong a whole lot.

Have no idea if heís right or not but thereís no way a casino would admit to it if they were on the verge of closing anyway.

Considering his reach, do you think he has an obligation to confirm that before tweeting?

I canít see how a whole bunch of casinos donít close for good as it looks like our government will not allow things to return to normal anytime soon. Vegas just cannot survive as it has in this global environment.

If he could confirm it, he wouldn't label it as a "rumor."

OK. Do you think it’s responsible to tweet a rumor that could devastate a business and help eliminate jobs during these crippling economic times?

The last thing I'm gonna do is debate what's "responsible" to post on twitter, and if I was gonna, I wouldn't start with a rumor about a casino closing.

Lotta things killing the casinos right now. That tweet is not one of them, and it also certainly isn't going to devastate the Sahara.

LOL. Join the conversation willingly and then complain about even being in such a stupid conversation. Finish by stating your opinion on said conversation thatís not worth discussing.

    Welcome to 2020.

You asked if reporting a rumor without confirmation was responsible. I point out that it wouldn't be reported as a rumor if it was confirmed. That's what rumors are, unconfirmed reports, from what Druff already points out is an unreliable source. It would be irresponsible to report rumor as fact, but that's not what happened here. A rumor monger reported a rumor.

You ask "Do you think it’s responsible to tweet a rumor that could devastate a business and help eliminate jobs during these crippling economic times?" I pretty much rejected that premise outright when I say "Lotta things killing the casinos right now. That tweet is not one of them, and it also certainly isn't going to devastate the Sahara."

I never once complained about anything. I'm sorry I didn't converse with you the way you expected me to.

Exactly. You said that it was a rumor not fact, implying there is no ethical dilemma of Vital Vegas posting it. I tried to clarify my question of ethical responsibility in regards to tweeting such a rumor and how it impacts people. You said you weren’t going to discuss it and then gave me an opinion anyway while trying to hand wave any discussion of ethical responsibility as unimportant and stupid. Am I missing something?

You have a right to be condescending but I have a right to bust your balls about it.
