Regis by all accounts was a great guy. Like Rodney Dangerfield, he didn’t really make it until well into his forties. I was a server in Manhattan during a couple college summers and it was well known that when he got the sudden jump in pay when the Millionaire show was a hit, it did not effect the amount he tipped. I was listening to Stern this morning and he did half jokingly say it must be COVID, because he pictured Regis being a guy to live close to 100. David Letterman calls him his favorite guest he ever had on the show.
So despite being a cheap bastard, RIP Regis. A true model of perseverance. He did good.
BTW nice photo of Richard Dawson TGull. Not sure that dude would of enjoyed the MeToo movement very much.
