Top 10 sports moments of all time

These are according to me. I hope you enjoy. You may not agree with all of them, but they are great. I literally was at half of these. Others just saw on TV or Youtube. Going to pass on things before my time like the Ali fights, although those were great but here again these are north of 1980.

    Enjoy my friends. Enjoy.

    #10 Nolan Ryan's 7th No Hitter:

I was actually at this game, it was May 1991. Bugs for whatever reason were terrible in the stands. They went away during the game and everyone began talking like in the 5th inning there was a no hitter going. Ryan was well into his 40s at the time, I was a teenager. 7th inning on people were literally stressed in the stands, 9th inning was insane.

    #9 Holyfield stops Tyson 1996

Holyfield was a 10-1 dog going into the fight. Actually, if you believe what you read he was 30-1 a couple weeks prior given he had already retired to a hear condition. I am surprised Tyson is still alive have the barrage he suffered towards the end of this fight.

Combined both the fighters squandered over $500M in earnings. Also for whatever reason the referee committed suicide a couple years after this fight.

    #8: Tyson vs Douglas

Speaking of Tyson, the greatest upset in boxing history took place in Japan, when Buster Douglas knocked out Mike Tyson. It was such a mismatch not many casinos were taking bets on it. Here is a fun fact, the match took place in the morning in Japan so it could be viewed in prime time in the US on HBO. An analyst watching the fight ringside said if anyone other than Tyson has suffered that uppercut by Douglas their neck would have snapped, Tyson survived it because he was so stocky.

Apparently Tyson was out drinking the night before.

    # 2 best play in NFL history
    The catch

Some jack ass working for Beecher report, did a top ten plays in 49er's history, and this was like #7.
I was like I don't know if you are too young to remember but this was the biggest play, of the biggest game, of the biggest season in 49er history.

It was the NFC changing of the guard.,
but they had beat Pittsburgh that year for the NFL changing of the guard, too.
Then in 84', the 2nd 49er SB season, they lost one game, to Pittsburgh.

    #7 2008 Olympic Swim Relay:

France was the overwhelming favorite in the relay. Even going in to the race it was the Americans were going to take the silver but most likely the bronze. Then an aging swimming Jason Lezak hit the 4th leg.

#6 Nebraska - Miami National Championship Game 1984

It was a formality really, Nebraska had the longest winning streak in the nation and averaged 52 points a game in the regular season. The University of Miami five years earlier considered disbanding football since it was so unprofitable. Nebraska went into the game as 17 point favorites.

This one play sealed the Heisman and future earnings of many millions.

Friends, that is it for tonight. You thought tonight was good, you will be on the edge of your seat for the final five. To create some suspense I will only be doing 1 a day so you'll have to wait a few days for #1, but it will be worth it. Check back tomorrow, okay!

When I was like 10, my best friend moved a suburb over. It was ten minutes drive away, but that’s like a thousand miles when you’re 10.

So he moves into his new house and I’m there every other weekend. The Kosars lived like five houses down the street. Bernie had a younger brother Brian our age, and a sister Beth, and we’d play football or baseball every day or hang out, and Bernie would play steady qb at times if it was like 3 on 3 backyard football.

He was in high school at the time. Didn’t even play football until his senior year. Just baseball. He kind of had a crush on my friends sister who was in school with him, but she said he’s nice, but too nerdy. Think he went to prom with his cousin iirc. So he goes out for football his senior year and they just become this juggernaut passing team in an era where no one passed in NE Ohio. Like legit the top passer in the conference the year before probably threw for 500 yards for the season and he comes in and throws for like 3000 yards.

They were our rivals always. His last game against us was a similar type game to the NC. One point game decided on a missed extra point.

He took off for Miami, and that was before Miami was anything. So clearly I followed the ascension of the program throughout his time. The Flutie game could be on your list. The most amazing game I had ever watched up until that point, and still. Bernie has thrown for like 450 yards and lost on that Hail Mary.

It was surreal just seeing this older kid from the neighborhood go from kind of nerdy high school kid to redshirting a year and then pulling off that game as a freshmen QB. Played another year and then the Browns and then he ran into some rough years afterward.

Great game. Great memories. There was a small pipeline after Bernie of local kids from up here going to Miami. None that approached his success. They grabbed a kid the next year from town who was named JC Penney. Real name. Great athlete, but undersized RB. Played behind Alonzo Highsmith.
