It's that they mostly ignored it, and when they did mention it, there was never a tone of "these protesters are putting lives in danger by being out there". Yes , there has been an issue getting everyone onboard for the masks, which I expected.

The point I'm making is that the mainstream media runs from pillar to post screaming "OMG DANGER DANGER DANGER" when it's right wingers congregating, and barely a peep about it when it's left wingers doing it.

The right has been consistent on this. You haven't seen much shaming of left-wingers getting together, aside from the context of, "Wait, and you were shaming us for protesting and congregating??"
