Probably true, but not necessarily. Since 1968 we've had a pattern of control of the presidency shifting regularly back and forth between the parties. It hasn't always been that way. In the Founding era the Democratic-Republicans and their progeny the Democrats dominated. Then there was a back and forth period until the Civil War. From the Civil War to the New Deal, the Republicans dominated heavily. For nearly 4 decades the Democrats dominated. Then the current era of back and forth.
The Democrats have won the popular vote in 6 of the last 7 elections. The Republicans won 2 elections in the electoral college due to a lucky combination of very few votes in a few states, plus voter suppression, particularly in Florida in 2000. The chances that keeps happening are low, which is why the Republicans are more and more desperate to put roadblocks in front of voters. It won't last much longer. Demographics and the craziness of the Republican party will make it harder for them to win the presidency. They'll have the Senate about half of the time though, and the House somewhat less.

Why would you assume that the people leaving California for Texas are Dems? I would think most of the people making that move would be Republicans, California Dems seem happy where they are for the most part.What you should fear is that it's going to turn Texas blue, probably not this year but within a decade or so. If you listen to the video you can hear five pops of what sounds like an AK-47 and then three or four shots that sound like a handgun. There is also an interview with the guy that took place before he got killed.
