Possible MGM Strip property reopening dates?

This guy on twitter claims he got his hands on an internal memo of some kind.

I obviously don't have any way to independently verify it. All I can say is that this guy had posted some good info in the past.

If these dates are correct, MGM thinks this is going to be a VERY long slog.....

There is a lot here that makes sense. At first I was a little confused why out of the two high end properties that MGM would open Bellagio over Aria. Aria is like a gymnasium with a huge gaming floor that dwarfs the Bellagio. The check in area at the Aria also is much larger than the Bellagio. Social distancing would be much easier to achieve at the Aria. I think they went with the Bellagio because,

    1. The fountain! How weird would it be for Vegas to reopen & no Bellagio Fountain.

    2. Bellagio could use some renovations in the hotel rooms if need be if the reopen is a total disaster. The Aria is good for a while so in a way they are protecting it.

    3. The Cosmopolitan is going to have a real difficult time with social distancing. The original construction was for condos leaving a long and very narrow gaming floor. They would have to take over 50 percent of their table games & slot machines off the floor to even have a chance to not have people on top of each other. Possibly use the 2nd-4th Convention floors but probably not worth the trouble. If the Cosmo does open I can see the Aria moving earlier as MGM likes to flank them at both sides.

Park MGM makes sense as it connects with the Tram from Bellagio and along with NYNY starts to fill in the South End of the Strip. Waiting for January for MGM Grand makes sense as they get a lot of international business so by then they can see the deal with flights.

Then they fill in much of the rest of their South Strip properties. Hopefully things will be back to normal when they reopen the Aria. Mirage being last is no surprise despite the gaming floor being renovated the rooms have been neglected for some time & it is not in the proximity of the other MGM properties.

Looks like the Excalibur is toast for a while. Perhaps makes the most sense of all.

MGM published a pretty extensive reopening plan today.

Did you call in to Druff’s show?

Did you read Druff’s Vegas corona analysis on this site? It’s maybe the best thing he’s written in ages.

If you have, name the one man who bears more responsibility than any other in the last 40 years for Vegas’ exposure to collapse.

I have been preaching the peril of New Vegas forever.

He’s still probably laboring under the notion Vegas problems are strictly virus. He most likely doesn’t know what a catalyst is in economic theory. Nevertheless, I feel like Druff & I have bonded once again.
