    Corona testing and Contact Tracing

Completely against. I don’t know what dumbwits think they can infringe on basic privacy rights using this virus as a shield against democracy.

Let’s say they open up and you go to a restaurant and a server there comes down with covid. They search the credit card receipts tracking down everyone she/he served and tells them to quarantine for 2 weeks. Wtf no way. It is not constitutional to do this and demand fuckshit.

Listen up assholes we are all gonna get it and you will not push your socialist principles in the corona ball.

FUCK OFF ALL, SHOVE YOUR USELESS TEST SWABS UP YOUR PEEHOLE!

constitutional law's privacy doctrine isnt absolute, its always had provisions allowing for the need to mitigate exigent circumstances to supersede personal rights essentially.

objecting to the morality of it certainly plays but assuming its a violation of constitutional law is probably flawed.

Conservatives don’t even recognize the Constitutional right to privacy as legitimate. They’ve attempted to overturn Griswold v. Connecticut, and it’s progeny, Roe v. Wade, at every chance over the past 50 years.

my politics are fairly open book and even i consider constitutional privacy to be secondary to state security in a post asymmetrical-warfare world.

in our childrens lifetimes, kits to build weapons of mass destruction will be available on the darkweb, plans will be open source all over the place.

shutting down the crazies to ensure the survival of the species outweighs the moral luxury of splitthis and i partying with our full body dog costumes in total privacy.

all we can do is draw firm lines regarding who gets to violate that privacy, when, and what happens to those who cross the line.

and we saw how badly that can go after rudy got his bones after 9/11. he militarized a police force filled with literal psychopaths, and the other police forces got jealous, and now everyone has swat tanks and 50 cals and no knock warrants and near total immunity from prosecution.

You are wrong. This isn’t some obscure percentage being affected. It is ALL of our privacy being affected and for what? No matter what shit they spew at us we will all get this and giving up our privacy is not going to happen without a huge brawl. If you all were surprised at the trumptards coming out of the woodwork to vote him in and revolt against the bs that was going on just wait. It’s gonna be epic.

I recommend anywhere you go that you use cash, park out of distance of cameras when going out. Big brotha is here and is out to scare you into submission. Fucking fight!

I don’t think the whole tracing thing is even feasible. If we open the country back up you’ll see millions test positive so you would need to hire and train who knows how many tracers.

Just remember people, the TS is supposedly highly trained & works in the medical profession.

She also said that absolutely nobody, under any circumstances, should donate blood about 2-3 weeks ago because you would be putting yourself in too much danger by compromising your immune system. This is some next level thinking right here.

Apparently in the last week, judging by her posts on this board, none of this is now real to her.

I look forward to your posts, when this reaches where you work, about the horrors of watching people die & how you lack proper PPE to properly do your job & you're putting yourself at great risk for the greater good.

I'm just kidding, obviously you'll be one of those workers who refuse to report to work like the nursing homes in Ontario & Quebec.

You are the dumbest rock on this site. Spewing about donating blood or plasma, something I am sure you have never done in this life. It is not hypocritical, donating your immunity is not wise period at this time unless you already had the corona. You need it for WHEN you get corona to not be the less than 1%.

Funny shit is that gays still can’t donate but people with way worse lifestyles do rofl.

Again 100% should not perish to save less than 1%.

Cool story & you're 100% incorrect you fucking bitch hypocrite.

You should just give up your license to practice so you'll have an excuse to not show up for duty when this reaches your town you fucking hypocrite bitch. You're obviously in the medical profession for the wrong reasons.

Yeah, nothing at all hypocritical in any of these positions. The highlighted red parts I'm talking about. The rest is just filler.

Contact tracing should be voluntary but people who test positive should be encouraged (not forced) to help figure out who else in their lives might be affected.

On the other hand, your call to end social distancing and completely open everything up again is selfish and dangerous.

When you go home you go home to an empty house. Most other people have a partner, parents, children, other family members they care about. Some are immunocompromised. Some would come into close contact with hundreds of people a day if they went back to work.

This virus is NOT like any regular old virus, because at the present time there is no vaccine (there's a flu vaccine, not 100% effective but it helps), there's no treatment (the flu has Tamiflu, again not 100% but helpful) and it can cause serious long-term health problems like organ failure for those it doesn't kill (unlike the flu and most other viruses).

We aren't properly equipped or prepared to open things up yet. When you don't invest long-term in public health and the current leadership is incompetent this is what can happen. Hopefully when this happens again, and it will, we will be better prepared. Right now we are playing catch-up. When we are in a better position to handle it things can open up again. Until then, stay the fuck at home.

Any time I read a rant that mentions sheeple I know they’ve just gotten wound up by some Facebook gibberish or AM radio nonsense and are, in fact, being sheeple led by some moronic shepherd. Thats both sad and amusing. We have a Republican president and you live in a state with a Republican governor. The only socialist anyone knows just got soundly defeated, yet we are implementing a socialist agenda? Ok.

the problem is i'm not sure how we will ever get more prepared to handle this. it sounds like a lot of people are waiting for a vaccine or some miracle treatment, which might not come for years, if ever.

we can't keep 50% of the workforce unemployed or we're lookin at not just poverty -- but generational poverty -- for half the country

this is more of a health danger than the virus itself.

note i have no good answer to this. i don't even have any suggestions. hope we get a breakthrough treatment coming soon.
