If only online poker existed and everyone could play regardless of where they lived.
I'll say the week of Oct 4th is when they try to give it a go

Honestly I do not have the patience to sit at a poker table any longer. It truly is mind numbing. When I go into a casino it's right to the craps table. It's quick and fast, either way win or lose. If you think I am going to stare down some dipshit with pocket Jacks you are fucked up. Not my thing anymore.
WSOP postponed in Las Vegas because of coronavirus pandemic

WSOP officials think they will hold the WSOP at the Rio, later this year.“We are committed to running the World Series of Poker this year, but need additional time to proceed on our traditional scale while prioritizing guest and staff well-being,” WSOP executive director Ty Stewart said in a statement.
Prominent professional poker player Daniel Negreanu, a six-time WSOP bracelet winner, said the postponement was inevitable.
“At this point, it wasn’t a question of if, it was a question of when,” he said. “There’s no social distancing in poker. You’re using the same cards and chips, sitting around a table for 10, 12 hours a day.”
Negreanu said he thinks live poker likely won’t be viable until a COVID-19 vaccine is available. Experts have said it will take 12 to 18 months for a vaccine to be widely available.
Daniel Negreanu thinks it will be a year or two until they hold the next WSOP tournaments.
Who do you think is correct?
If the Coronavirus follows a similar pattern that the Spanish Flu did over 100 years ago.
The Coronavirus could return even more powerful in the fall of this year, this "second wave" could kill even more people than in the last few months.
the same for any chess tournaments and similiar competitions

Won't be back in 2020 unless there's a treatment of unless Caesars is super reckless.
why did bush knock down those towers though
I’m still going to show up at the Rio convention center on June 18 at 10 am with $1000, a deck of cards, and chips. If nobody else shows, I’m declaring myself 2020 senior world champion.

I think a lot of this will depend upon what happens when Vegas forces the (premature) reopening of casinos in May or June with the lol entrance temperature monitoring machine.
If it turns into a fiasco where a ton of tourists get sick, there will be horrible PR and it will backfire. If this happens, there will be no WSOP 2020.
If it looks mostly okay -- or if Nevada manages to cover up just how many instances of this there are -- then they may declare everything being a-okay, and I could see them holding some idiotic "social distancing" WSOP where everyone wears masks and all events are 6-handed.
Of course there may be a treatment by then. Keep in mind that the decision about schools will have been made before this, and that's also a huge danger for those who have kids (not the kids themselves, but the parents). I could see Caesars stating that it's safe to open the schools, so therefore it must be safe for responsible adults to play the WSOP, which can actually be a convincing argument.
ill be there, selling main event action at cost (lol at marking up this tourney btw, the player is the one who reaps all the fame reward) $100 1%
There's only a fame reward if you make the final table.
This is actually a good one to mark up if you're a decent player, since there's a lot of dead money in the field. In this tournament more than any, table draw is huge, because of both the high presence of amateurs and the slow structure.
Moot point this year though.
