Yeah I think JeffDime got it right.
He likely ran into an issue at Venetian about the big buyin, low play. This resembles money laundering, and casinos hate it, because they're supposed to report this to the feds, and it's a huge hassle.
I also believe that the $5k was close to his entire net worth (probably give or take a few hundred). Remember one of the videos where he said that he always bought in for his entire bankroll, because he grew up poor, and walking around with it made him feel rich? I think that was one of the few times he was telling the truth. I think he really was buying in for 50k or more in early 2020, and now is buying in for the 5k, which again is likely the vast majority of money to his name.
He was actually asked about the buyin in the comments, and he answered:
John Brown
Why do you buy In for five grand when you probably don’t play that much based on the amount of the time you play. My understanding is that only your average bet will generate your comps and not the amount of your buy-in. What’s the inside information
Keeping Up With the Michell's
Not true at all brother. Your buy in is extremely important and will get the attention of The Executive Casino Host immediately.
"John Brown" is correct. Buying in too big will only get the wrong kind of attention -- suspicion of money laundering. You will never get additional comps for doing that. It's all computerized these days, and it rates you with a formula based upon length of play, average bet, house edge, and skill if applicable. The computer doesn't give a shit how much you buy in, nor does the host.
I assume Chrissy really believes his own bullshit, but I still think the reason he's buying in big is to feel like a rich person. It's pathetic.
High chance he's Martingaling again. He probably did win $300 or whatever that evening. Soon enough the Martingale monster will eat him, and that $5000 will be in the casino coffers once again.
I do find it interesting that he claims he won't be giving out free strategy info anymore. I actually think it's more likely an attempt to avoid YouTube strikes than to entice people to join his inner circle. I believe he feels he can get away with just doing "lifestyle videos" on Stacy's channel.
Will be interesting to see his Bahamas video coming up. I'm sure we will be able to pick that one apart, as well.
