Still anxiously waiting on Dimester’s video covering casino comps. Personally, I don’t have a full grasp on the casino comp system. Somewhat on the play/rewards piece, but not really on the marketing part. Not sure if there is a difference in casino offers given to a local vs someone from out of state. If there is a difference, then that may be one reason why Chrissy was given great offers/comped rooms. That is until the casino started noticing he was there quit often and determined he no longer lives in Ohio, plus he only plays for 15 minutes or less and is taking them for thousands of dollars every time. And not only that, I think the casino C-suite executives are in the know that Chrissy has an agreement with God and that God is leading Chrissy to the winning tables.
I can answer this for you.
Yes, casino comps differ for locals and out-of-staters, but it's almost 100% that Chrissy has his Nevada address listed. I doubt he's even aware/smart enough to know that casino comps can vary based upon player location.
Why does Chrissy get comps? Simple: Because he's a losing player, who up until recently was betting at semi-high limits.
Additionally, if he still plays games like blackjack, it's also probably been observed that he is a horrible player, which makes him even more -EV, and thus gets him more lucrative comps. They have a rating system for blackjack which ranges from "basic strategy or better" (fewest comps) to "player who makes frequent significant mistakes" (most comps), and then various rankings in between. This is done by pit boss observation. This is then combined with average bet, to determine comps. Actual results don't usually figure into this. Occasionally an error is made, which can result in a lot of extra comps until corrected. (For example, one of my buddies, a card counter, was once rated as being clueless, because the pit boss didn't understand the play modifications made due to the count. He got GREAT comps until they realized their mistake.) However, I don't think any such mistake was made with Chrissy. He just sucks at gambling.
With baccarat, there is no skill rating, because there is no skill in the game. They do figure in when you make extra -EV bets which aren't simple player/banker bets, but since Chrissy just sticks to player/banker, he accidentally is playing the "best" at baccarat, which is still of course -EV.
Chrissy gets the comps because, up until recently, he was starting with $100 bets and moving up as he Martingaled, so his average bet was fairly high. Even with the short sessions, he had a high enough ADT to where they likely were willing to comp him.
As has been pointed out by others, it's also likely that Chrissy was paying to get some of these suites, either by bargain-hunting through online sites or by getting price reductions through hosts.
What Chrissy doesn't understand is that the comps he claims to receive are actually indicative that he's a LOSER, not a winner. Unless you have a +EV strategy that the casino doesn't understand (which, of course, doesn't apply to LOL betting systems), they only comp you when they believe you are mathematically likely to chunk off a lot of money to them.
