Ray Trapani was envolved in a multi-million dollar Bitcoin scam with two partners.

I am surprised this guy is still alive. He ratted on his partners in exchange for no prison time. One of the partners was sentenced to 8 years in a federal penitentiary and the other partner was sentenced to one year for bilking millions of dollars out of their clients.

At 27:08 in this video, the interviewer asked Trapani if he was any good at gambling. Trapani told him that he was a successful poker player and had played in several World Series of Poker tournaments. My first thought was that Trapani had so much money before the scam came tumbling down, that he could have easily afforded the 10K buy-in (like so many other fish).

Nexflix made a documentary on Trapani and the Bitcoin scam called Bitconned. I haven't watched it but it is sick to think that this guy made any money from the documentary after destroying so many people's lives with his scam.

Just like The Bloat, "We Printed Money". Unlike The Bloat that only prints Amazon fake money, these guys really did print money. Nonetheless, they are still scumbags.

The crypto world was/is full of so many scams, that it makes the poker and casino worlds look like Sunday church.

I love when people claim to be "successful poker players", yet nobody in poker has heard of them. The guy doesn't even have any documented tournament results. He probably bought into a few WSOP events with the scam money, failed miserably, and now brags about having played.

In almost all cases, an unknown claiming he was successful in poker is lying about it. Yes, there's some winnning cash players who fly under the radar, but in most cases there's a lot of bluster and not much behind it when unknown brag about their poker results.
