The Dems are now the betting favorite to control the Senate.
The funny part is that is one of the most coherent statements I can recall from Trump. The dawning realization that re-elections are referendums on the president and he is either loved or hated, and there seems to be more in the latter camp.
The enthusiasm gap concerns me, but they ask the question about the candidates rather than how enthusiastic are you to vote against Trump. That’s where any and all enthusiasm is on the left.
Joe couldn’t draw 1000 regular people to much of anything. He can raise some millions when someone sets up a dinner party and execs and the wealthy view it as a business obligation, but if Trump loses, there will be this big party that we are rid of this moron, and then wake up hung over as fuck and realize Joe Biden is president. All you can do is hope he wants to delegate everything to some competent people. It will be a much better government once real adults are in charge, but far from ideal.
Tulsa really fucked Trump’s head, particularly when followed by a slew of bad polling. A picture really was worth a thousand words when he got off that plane. He looks and sounds defeated.
I think he’s more down on his chances than I am. He’s still drawing live. It looks bad because I don’t see any good news between now and November, but weird shit happens.
I’m curious to see what is done with stimulus $. Every business guy I talk to is on the precipice of their loans running out, if they haven’t already, and looking at layoffs. The big free money unemployment elapses in late July. I have to imagine they’re going to extend that, not to save Trump, but to save a wave. They are going to get run the fuck out of town otherwise. It’s going to be one bad fall as far as the virus and the economy. They can print more fake money and hope bodies don’t start dropping by the thousands per day until around Election Day, but if they don’t, it will be all poverty and death around the clock.
