I was 70/30 Biden last week, but after doing a deeper dive on the polls and "social desirability", I'm back to a coin flip.

It's easy to look past the fact that he was in worse shape in the key swing states at this point in 2016 and that considerably less people believed that their neighbors were voting Trump then too than now in the same surveys. Social desirability has been the only reliable way to measure shy voters.

Listen to Robert Cahaly explain his take on the 2020 election in detail. People will trash him and his firm, but the dude called even the 306 electoral vote (outside of faithless electors) spread correctly. He's convinced from his data that Trump is a lock in Florida, will easily win Pennsylvania, likely win Minnesota and is a slight favorite in Wisconsin.

The Republican controlled legislators will force the electors who actually vote for President to vote for Trump regardless of the vote.

The Supreme Court has ruled on this before. If the state lets people vote, they can't decide their own electors after the fact. Of course with fascist thugs in stolen Supreme Court seats maybe they'll overturn themselves.

So I have been puzzled for a long term about the Trump strategy.

I have come to two conclusions, he’s more or less given up or he has an October surprise.

My guess for the surprise would be the deleted emails showing Clinton created the Russia situation and Obama (and hence Biden) knew about it. This is literally the only thing I can think of at this point to explain his behavior.
