I’ve done the same. I’ve informed myself and weighed a lot of different information and opinions and experiences and I’m happy with my conclusions. I’m tired of arguing about it so I’m tapping out. Not talking about corona in this thread anymore.
One last thing, Fuck Fauci.
The traffic light is very relevant to our discussion. You see, cities hire technical experts (in this case traffic engineers) to analyze data that studies how dangerous intersections are. Once they're done with their studies, they identify certain intersections dangerous enough for risk mitigation. Weighing the possibly of the risk happening and scale of impact the risk would have, the technical expert will recommend risk mitigation tools in an effort to minimize the risk. Could be a 4 way stop, some places have roundabouts or it could be that really imposing light. At that point, after listening to the expert and looking at the probable cost and construction delay impacts, the city project manager will make a decision of what to do.
Legend:
Technical Expert = Fauci
Dangerous intersection = Covid
Light = masks
City = government
So once again, do you think the light at the intersection is imposing on your civil rights? Or is it simply a risk mitigation tool that is being used to minimize the impacts of the possibly dangerous intersection?
For me, waiting at intersections for a light to turn green impacts my life about as much as wearing a mask at the grocery store for 15 minutes once a week.
