We all knew this would be a shit show but it's way more unorganized then I thought it would be.

It will be a long winter of dealing with this stuff. We aren't hearing the news media talk about covid today at all like they have shoved in our faces for the past 7.5 months. Covid is old news until this election cluster fuck is over.

It took me 2 hours and 45 minutes to vote yesterday at a poorly ran, small building precinct. I wanted to go on election day because it's tradition the way voting was designed to be but I would have voted last week if I knew I'd be waiting in line so long and I only saw 2 people get out of line to leave the rest stuck it out.

When I left I would estimate the people in line had at least 3 and a half hours wait since the back of the line was longer than it was when I got there.

I tried to vote at 7am and it was jam packed so I went back at 2:45pm to see it just as bad in my small town area. The problem is they only let 5 new people in to vote at a time and wait until most are done voting before letting another 5 in.

The predictit fail coupled with the book losing their minds made it a really crazy night, but not crazy in a fun way. I had no source of information to see if it was real or what.

Like in 2016 you got to see your lead and the other team keep scoring and wondering if the clock ran out or Trump caught up first. This was just a giant lack of information.

Clearly the books had so much Trump exposure that they got scared and over corrected at one point. That’s what fucked everyone up given it’s now bigger than the SB in terms of amount wagered.

And the polls are laughable. Someone like Nate will live if Trump is finished because that’s ultimately all his readership cares about, but it doesn’t change the polls themselves were off 10% often. Look at my state. I was half proud of Ohio for an hour until I started delving into outstanding vote. Clearly they aren’t polling these rural people correctly. Most polls had Ohio as tossup or a slight Biden lean and he lost by 8 once again. I thought it would be half that. But I don’t know anyone in rural Ohio. PA always scared me, as it’s all I know is rural PA.

Hand on the Bible. I got a call from someone in rural PA last night telling me they couldn’t vote because the kids went to virtual schooling this week because of a few cases and couldn’t get a sitter at night and the lines were hours long and she couldn’t have her kids out in it. As razor thin as PA is, that telling your voters to wait until Election Day would have been genius if you had rural polling properly staffed. They didn’t. It was like the city. Big oversight. Trump may still win Pa. I don’t think it’s a given. A mail in ballot received late isn’t the same as an early mail in. The early broke 80/20 dem. Later more 65/35. They seem to be from heavily Dem areas though and it’s a dem gov so we will get any break.

Like everyone started the night knowing there was going to be mirages, but the lack of information all around coupled with the books made it a disaster.

Not taking the senate makes it all bittersweet anyway. I don’t think we likely get there with any ru off scenarios. What a mess all around.
