Things you are doing to pass time during isolation

I’m not a hugely social being but I do miss the gym and other stuff since all this started. It gets really depressing at times. I exercise for an hour and a half in the morning which boosts my endorphins for a few hours, then have to walk somewhere in afternoon to get a dose to last till early evening. I go to bed early to ignore the looming depression.

Yesterday I took the hounds to Cuyahoga Valley National Park for an hour and a half hike. It was a little too much for my smaller dog who puked in the car on the way home.

Today I took them close to home after I did a couple home nursing cases. The old adage of the turtle winning the race holds true today.

Have always had a bicycle but never ride it... rode 10 miles in 4 hours around town with the kids on Monday, did another 10 miles in 40 minutes to pick up my car at the shop today. Most fun I’ve had on a bike since I’m 15 years old maybe because there are no cars out there to kill me. Hills still suck tho.

Fired on Criterion Channel, been searching for new music for the first time in 5+ years, mixing in an early afternoon beer here and there, napping, breathing much cleaner air in downtown Portland, raising a baby.

    And jacking off.

Separate from watching a ton of movies and TV shows on Netflix and YouTube, I’m watching a number of biochemistry science videos. Fascinating shit! Here are some examples.

The great thing about these vids for me is that I only retain a portion of the info in them beyond a few weeks at best, so I get to be amazed by the imagery and complexity of the details again and again over the years. And some are just flipping cool to watch know that the molecular activity is driven merely by the chemistry and physics of these incredible molecular machines!
