    Online Poker options- Caronavirus edition

So now seems like a good time to rehash the current options for online poker. Is ACR still an option for most? Is Ignition/Bovada still kicking? Ive been out of the loop for a year or two. It seems like there would be a big spike in traffic with everyone sitting at home. Thoughts/ideas/etc? Free green rep will be given for all helpful replies

Bodog, ignition has been down for longish intervals, doesn't bode well for them as hard hit in the Philepeens .

Bovada/Ignition were doing really well (large traffic increases) prior to yesterday lol. ACR is running a few special tournies daily that are doing pretty well. Those 2 should be best options for Americans.

Both have seen traffic increases bc of kung flu

Chicago Joey is going to drop a video soon (today, I think) regarding this exact question.

    Anyway, the answers:

    SAFE:
Any state-regulated site like WSOP.com if it exists where you are (I know it doesn't in Missouri)

    Reliable payouts but flawed:
Bovada/Ignition (shit customer service, anonymous tables, impossible to detect/prove cheating, software sucks)

ACR (full of bots, tournaments often crash and stop in the middle)

"Private game" options -- best games but good chance you'll get scammed:

PPPoker / PokerBros - These are apps with separate "clubs" featuring games. You get accounts and buyin through agents. You need to trust both your "agent" and club "owner", or otherwise you can completely get fucked. There have been MANY scams involving these, including agents/owners who attempt to be honest, but then allow fish to buy in on credit, who then screw them and the whole thing collapses. You also run the risk of being cheated, especially via collusion. The upside is that the games tend to be better than you'll find on ACR/Bovada/WSOP, because there is a higher fish-to-pro ratio.

Kings Club / Neighborhood Club - Private sites (instead of apps) which again you need to be invited via an agnent. Similar to the above, you run the risk of being cheated, and there's also the cheating risk of the club owner running a tool on the server side to superuse against you. Again, the games are better here, but you're risking a lot.

Personally I don't screw with the private sites or apps. Too risky.

It means, because the folks don’t know you, you would need to buy into the game with cash. You would need to “post” the buyin.

Lot of clubs run fine with local folks because it’s hard to ghost someone when everyone playing with you knows who you are and where you live. Online there is nothing to stop you from taking a shot and ghosting if you lose.

will second what druff said on ACR...

it's unregulated so you know how that goes, your money is never 100% safe...but I have never in the time I have played there ever had an issue of getting paid at all...and quickly...if I use crypto, if I have to wait 48 hours to get cashed out that is a damn near eternity...usually get paid in crypto within 24 hours...

honestly think it's the best of the shitty options you have...but just have your eyes WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE open about the risks...

I am a lawyer and play live in my local card room- have for years. You see some scumbags, but over time, some people you consider friends as well.

This "app" thing has exploded in the past 3 years. Many of the better players are playing live (at the table) and on one or more devices, at the table. Kind of annoying for delay, but no big deal.

One guy asked me if I wanted in on his new app. I like the guy. I'm sure he would have gotten a cut of my rake, but I said no. Scam central, and, as a lawyer, I could risk my license. This latter seems remote, but I have a friend who's dad was a sports bettor, not a book, and the cops made him name names at risk of his law license.

Anyway, it was my prediction that these apps will soon have their Black Friday moment- the money is getting big. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the apps are bigger than ACR. Maybe with the super-AIDS, that day may be further off, but with that money flowing- someone will eventually notice.

    Stay well, everyone.

Past two years, I played in some Clubs that were started by local guys, so I have full trust. Both sites are agent based, which means you have to be known to garner invite. Software is on par with PFA Poker Room. No App, just website. Deposits and Withdrawals are thru BTC, pp, zelle, whathaveya. All games are offered, but most traffic is Big-Omaha and PLO. Easy Pickens.

Maybe Iím crazy but I assumed you would have to post your money to play, safe as anywhere else.

How secure is this club youíre pimping? Would you personally vouch for it to anyone from PFA (like are you an owner or part owner?). Whatís the player pool like? What are typical limits, etc? Feel free to pm me if you donít want to post in the open

The fact that you donít know itís my thing and I intentionally use it wrong whenever someone comes at me as a tongue in cheek reply is hilarious. You must be drunker then me.

The apps are no where near the ACR / Igntion lol ... maybe close to the action in cash games but not in tournaments at all. Show me an app that has 2k + people in an mtt, bc there are multiples of those tonight on the US sites
