Radio update

I spent several frustrating hours trying to get the archiving system to work.

Basically, the software of the radio server can automatically create a "dump" of the stream, but it kept creating corrupt files, and I was going nuts trying to figure out how to stop that. Finally I gave up and took a different route, and employed a completely different solution. Unfortunately, that solution also ran into various problems (due to poor/inaccurate documentation) that I was having a hard time dealing with.

But I finally got it working.

When I connect to the radio server, a unique, timestamped MP3 file is generated from the stream.

Next I will be working on a flashing "RADIO ON AIR" indicator when radio is running, as well as an actual archive page where you can listen to archived radio shows.

so druff have you worked out any type of radio schedule yet? also have you talked to brandon yet about any type of radio commitment?(weather you two team up or he does a solo show?)final question will you do any type of radio mtt/p.f.a. poker league?

I think the one you have is fine, but there are infinite alternatives...





Basically just pick any text and style/color combination you want, and it can be animated in less than 5 minutes. This is the simplest animation to do - it's only two frames.

The radio images for the site are more of the smaller details.

The bigger challenges would involve finding a co-host, scheduling guests, and developing regular segments that the listeners look forward to and enjoy. But I'm sure druff is busy making his plans.

It makes sense to me for druff to brainstorm and prepare more pre-recorded consumer advocacy type
phone calls and then build a story out of them on his show. Listeners would probably also enjoy Druff calls to outsourced Asian call centers for lols.

I also believe it would be better for Druff to have a series of temporary co-host "tryouts" while the search for a permanent co-host is ongoing.

Guests are going to be important and this might become an issue because i'm pretty sure micon and drexel were more actively pursuing guests than druff at DD probably because druff lives in LA while those other 2 guys are in vegas.

I was thinking along the same lines. I can fill in as a co-host at least a few times as needed. I am hesitant to commit to anything beyond that due to a busy life right now, but we could try it and see how it goes. Also any image can be re-sized, recolored, etc - you just have to lay out what you are looking for.

I actually like the reflection. I notice the frame has a few defects though - very easy to fix.

Does Druff even need a co-host? I'm not sure he does. We've heard Druff plenty of times alone on the +EV, we've heard him go off for long periods when micon checked out entirely for 20-30 minutes at a time, the test show was classic solo Druff...

A functioning chat room and some call-ins and you're good, IMO. No need for a permanent 2nd host at all.
