You are welcome 1step. You can repay me by sending BigBird some dick pics so he will quit asking me.

Also, that freak keeps sending me msgs and PM's as well. If I had to pick who is closeted, I would put my money on him.

He behaves like an 8th grade boy. A closeted, loser at that.

Tax question (so yeah I'm just asking for an informed hot take, not actual tax advice).

Friday I took 370 put contracts on QQQ ( $14,000 cost basis give or take) and paid about 80 cents each both ways for approx $600 in commissions/fees.

    Sold at a $3150 profit, or $2550 after commissions/fees.

Can someone confirm or deny that the $600 gets added to cost basis for tax purposes? So my cap gains is like 30% of $2550, not $3150?

Again I know its sketchy asking for tax advice, I'm not looking for legal opinions, just trying to sort out the basics.

hey 'tine, fairly certain it's your net profit so it's the after commission number that gets taxed...

    Damn,

I had bought Facebook puts at 228 and at 220 Friday. I sold them at profits, but it is at 208 now. Could have really cleaned up if just held onto them.

    FAO San:

More than 200 gym-goers in West Virginia are being urged to quarantine after a Planet Fitness client tested positive for Covid-19, health officials say.

I was looking at PLNT as a put opportunity based off this news, but after the initial drop (which wasn't much) which I missed because I hadn't seen the news yet, the stock rebounded half back.

But I guess this gets us to a broader point, which is which stocks we think are particularly vulnerable for big falls (from where they are now) as the country starts to reclose?

My Wynn put expired Friday, thank god, as it rebounded today. But casinos... all day everyday but that move already happened.

For your radar Direxion WFH..... work from home Basket of stocks like Zoom.

Our gym has not opened. Next Monday. Absolute nightmare & unmitigated disaster. The only thing worse would be a re-closure which is a near certainty.

The run today has me baffled

It takes just one phone call from a member that they are sick. Then you shut down for a deep cleaning... board of health groveling .... big write up in local paper... write credits like a motherfucker.

Boats, Pools & RV’s are shattering sales records.

Boats caught me by surprise. The Fed transfer of trillions to asset holders has to go somewhere. Be nice if the Treasury put money into the economy next time.

I think a lot of it was Boeing. I actually jumped on at start of day, but jumped off at 184 with small profit and missed most of the afternoon runup.

Story of my investing life. Leaving so much on the table.

My brother in law has started buying Air BnB's in rural camping/hiking/boating areas with the thesis this is going to take over international travel. He has 3 places and looking for more. So far he is making $$ every month on top of the equity.

We are actually thinking of getting in. We have $25K set aside for the downpayment on a spot and looking in the Joshua Tree area. But I know jack shit about landscaping, home decorating, etc., so I pretty much need something that is ready to go as is.

    Good luck with the opening.

Did you hire your son back or is he further down the list? And is room/board during a pandemic considered compensation for him?

There is half a chance we get delayed when our Governor has his weekly Thurs press conference.

Nope. I want to see green money 1st of the month.

Kid went in every day we were closed whether he was collecting or he was being paid under the Paycheck Protection Plan. Not one word was spoken. He just knew the score.

We are open in a limited way cause we do broadcast exercise video and have some sports going on. He is the guy aiming the gun at your head and the point man on customer questions. He has to wear a mask the entire time. Occasionally the local health inspector stops by and rich militant liberals abound. Brutal.

Kid says every day, “this whole coronavirus thing is stupid”. Angry. No amount of discussion can overcome how upset he is. It’s his generation. They are so fucked.

Did some $8 PLUG calls for 7/31. Hope it is the next WKHS (which I missed). It is pretty active on Robintrack.

Also did a SPY 307 put. Feels like 307 is the top. We shall see.
