So the Fed announced it would buy individual corporate bonds, and I guess the is all it took. The recession has been cancelled. I actually tried to make a SPY put at 307, but couldn't because all my $$ is still locked up from last weeks trades. Hopefully the market keeps going up, so I don't feel bad about this, although I suspect it will go the other way and I will.

Today I did SPY puts 2x where I bought around the high point and sold around the low point.

I am actually trying something that may or may not work. Basically I bought a 3/17 SPY put and a call right around EOD around SPY 312 (Basically a straddle but I did it as 2 separate trades). So basically hoping for either a massive swing one way or another and/or selling at dip/peaks tomorrow. Will update with results.

i never do straddles/strangles as single transactions, i always do two separate trades and im not sure what advantages there are to doing them any other way.

commissions...if you're paying a flat fee per trade plus per options contract it saves you on the flat fee part...

god that totally makes sense, thank you.

but who the fuck would trade the flexibility of holding onto a leg worth literally 0 with a potentially infinite upside for like 60 cents a contract?

all depends on your position size...if you are trading around in 1 lots then that $6-7 flat fee takes a huge bite outta your ass since your take profit target on your trade is probably gonna be like $50-200 a trade (huge range, obv, but gonna guess it's about right)...if you're trading like 50 lots that flat fee ain't gonna mean a ton in the grand scheme of things...

EDIT: trading is just like any other business...the more units you can spread your fixed cost over the better...if you're a BSD then yeah legging in is probably the right way to go...if you are just bobbing and weaving with a few contracts here and there, probably best to do it all at once...

Do any of you old fucks use robintrack.net? Its the antithesis of investing to you people but youre able to follow along and see how many users follow a particular stock over time on RH and gives you leaderboard.

When I option trade the fee is always $0.65-$0.70. Where are you getting the $6-$7 number from? Is that the margin account rate?

Also, my straddle bombed last night. Market went nowhere at all, which is pretty much worse case scenario. Sold the call at a tiny profit and hoping for market to go down so don't lose everything on the put. We move on.

It was already in the way back down by the time I noticed. Very hard to pick up on theses things on the way up. Robintraxk doesn’t seem to update very well in real time.

You need a stock screener. Something you can configure any way you like. It’s just something for you to be aware of. Think or Swim has a lot of 3rd party scripts for free and some for small money. A guy I occasionally look at had some cool ones I was gonna tell Sonatine about.

Yeah, Tellafriend, forgot all about the casinos and my pal Wynn. I’ll try to grab it if it retraces back up. Nice pick.

Been scalping the cruises on the way down. No one is gonna cruise out of Florida with that shitshow down there?

Biggest focus has been indexes and I’ve been frustrated. I posted in the alt forum that I think we had an island nd top on Dow and are rolling over. Does take a genius to see now but.
