Deposit $25k and you’re then rated a day trading class fool with margin and full rights and privileges.

i mean, you can get margin without 25k iirc but i think hes grousing about settlement, and the ubiquitous habit of non commission brokers slow boating payouts so they can rake interest.

I am not sure WTF is going on, but probably what Sonatine is suggesting. Most of the money I cashed out yesterday isn't available for trading yet.

stonks take about 3 days before the cash becomes available for use/withdrawl (T+3), options one day (T+1).

brokerage houses tend to push people towards margin accounts because they actually charge interest on the margin funds.

i dont hold overnight much anymore, and i strictly trade options, so ive actually migrated to non-margin accounts and honestly i love it, as of now i see absolutely no reason to go to margin any time soon. once in a blue moon ill wish i had the 3x leverage to exploit some line on a security that either doesnt have options or has such a shitty spread that its non exploitable but 9 times out of 10 if i look harder, there is easier money to be made elsewhere regardless.

Margin, like all debt, is almost fucking free. Less than 1%. Run your units how you wanna run your units Sonatine.

Simp and I went back and forth in nonsense posts about Biden’s campaign manager running Justin Trudeau’s 2015 campaign. I then riffed about Parscale not the sort to have gravitas with Trump. Genius keyboard warrior in 2016 but no Bannon. I think the market is coming to the realization that Senate, House and President is going Democrat

COVID reappearing and more Trump rudderless messaging would be insufferable. His riots performance snuffed any glimmer of hope. The economic reality is setting in for the slow and infirm electorate who might have seen Powell.

See how long it takes you to accept what the long term players seem to be accepting.

like to put a finer point on it, it costs $2000 in options to obtain the same results that you would get from a 30k investment leveraged 3x against a 2% stock price shift.

I hate the political stuff but I think it’s noteworthy whenever you can mark the moment if you can.

Ackman, Portnoy, and the day Trump’s hope died. It’s not hard to keep track.

Portnoy was a schtick to drive eyeballs. Genius for a sports site w/o sports. Nobody appreciates satire anymore. Twitter killed satire.

Speaking of Portnoy ..... and the merger of stonks and sports wagering .....

Beating the Book had a Bookmaker.eu trader on his show. An offshore trader talking publicly was historic. He was talking about their survival strategies etc. The guy was very appealing and struck me as candid. I learned some things.

One of the topics he discussed was offering daily stock market props. Will the market close at what level over under. They were setting their own lines. NOW THAT CAUGHT MY FULL ATTENTION. I’ll play ya. The Bookmaker trader talked about how he was refining his strategy like closing the prop at 3:30. How some days he doesn’t offer the prop cause he had family business to attend to. So down home. Beautiful.

He admitted he had no experience in the market but WAS a market maker. Hmmm. Okay.

Always looking for a good out I can trust and I wanted to play this guy.

    This is an over.

What will the S&P 500 Close at the end of the trading day (4pm EST) 06/12/2020 (Marketwach.com) - TOTAL o3000-120 - (Over vrs Under)
    Game Start 06/12/2020 @ 04:00 PM
    Ticket # 449383101

    Very decent limits.

    I got a dozen more.

He is weak on the next day props imo. This screamed the dead cat bounce after huge down day. The stats on this are like 81% historically. This guy needs a rape whistle.

It depends. I’m betting live. Sometimes it’s $4k. Sometimes less. $1500 is routinely available.

I’m definitely getting offered more than $1100. You saw a specific offer on a specific line

He’s a market maker. He’s balancing action. I have been extraordinarily busy these past few days pushing buttons so I haven’t spent any time trying to figure his limits algo.

Everything is a potential arb or hedge, right?

I’m just having fun with the idea I’m heads up with a guy not a live wagering service. There is a purity to that which I enjoy. Build my Sportsbook account without paying $700 in crypto fees.

In the context of this community....

Having a flashback where Mumbles is arguing a company’s fundamental prospects with me. I’m like that’s not how wagering works. I mean it’s fun to have a lean but that shit will usually just cost you money. For me, thinking cost me TSLA money and has forever crippled pure thought.

I will admit airlines and cruise bk stonks were another

Hertz is prima facile evidence. They want to issue $1b of new equity and people will buy it. This is like a loose aggressive high stakes limit game.
