I'll get Coronavirus and document it, within the next 2 weeks, for just $1k. I'm not kidding, I'd take that. Why? I believe he just didn't think it through, and indeed this is a big hole in his plans -- and ones leaving him open to such accusations.
Probably better to do it the following way:
1) Before he starts, he mostly proves he doesn't have it yet (such as by taking his temperature on video several times a day).
2) He takes some preliminary sum of money to attempt to get himself infected, where he documents it on video. Maybe something like $10k. This might be hard, because in the US I don't think you can easily access anyone who has the coronavirus.
3) If he actually gets the coronavirus within 2 weeks of that, and can prove it, he's paid the other $240k. If he doesn't, he gets nothing.
