Dude don't put that nonsense in the guy's head.
There is nothing to put in anyone's head. Random numbness in shoulders needs to be deliberated by specialists not by some random ER Doctor who hates life. Druff, see a neurologist.

There's a massive difference between what you wrote and the point you were trying to make. Ain;t my fault that what you wrote isn't what you meant.

You wrote "Most guys our age have been in ER at some point of their lives..." when it's now clear you meant to write "Most guys our age WHO have been in ER at some point of their lives..." Those two clauses mean very different things.

So I asked him how it was possible I was correct to go AND it being anxiety. Usually anxiety-driven ER visits involve people who go out of panic when there's no medical justification to visit. Here even Pooh conceded that I should have gone. I asked if he thought the symptoms themselves were a result of anxiety, and he couldn't really answer that.

So what did the supposed anxiety cause here? My shoulder pain? That would make no sense. The chest pain? That came two days after the shoulder pain started, and I wasn't even slightly concerned about the shoulder pain being something serious, so that definitely wasn't anxiety-related either. My fear of heart issues only came AFTER I noticed the left shoulder and chest pain combo.

But perhaps the biggest indication that this WASN'T anxiety came from the fact that my anxiety is about 90-95% gone these days, yet I never went to the ER when it was its severe level in 2018. I also never thought I was having heart problems in 2018, even at my very worst point. If anxiety was going to push me to the ER, it would have happened back then, not today when my anxiety is very mild and mostly gone.
Let's be honest here Druff. Our discussion didn't exactly go how you presented it. I did say it's better being safe than sorry. That's for both your mental well being and in the off chance you were having a cardiac event. Do your homework on anxiety related ER visits. Chest pains buddy. That's what does them in and is caused by anxiety. You're so out of shape for your age you likely have many random pains everywhere on your body. This one happened to be in your left arm. lol listen to yourself dude. You've been trying to justify your visit to the ER for days now begging people to believe you were maybe having some event. You weren't. Get your fucking records from the ER it probably says most likely caused by anxiety or stress. Fuck man.

Here's your deal and I can read it a mile away. You're scared shitless this anxiety comes back in any form. You'd probably rather have a heart attack than what you went throw a couple years ago. This is the reason you are discarding my theory out of hand. The others on here who have had anxiety issues (besides myself) have all said yeah Druff, probably some sort of anxiety was involved here. If you want to deny it go for it I don't give a fuck. Just don't misconstrue what we discussed. Granted I woke up to these angry fucking texts you sent me so keep that in mind too.
I think you just hammer out this shit without reading what anyone writes.

When did I say I had some kind of cardiac event? Nowhere in this thread did I say that.

The stats of ER visits for chest pains don't matter. It's like saying that because a high % of 2am Saturday night car accidents are due to DUI, if I had an accident at that time, I must have been drunk. Just dumb shit that means nothing.

I already told you, ER concluded it was most likely a combo of viral and an injury.

I never had any chest pain or heart attack fears when I had super severe anxiety in 2018. I wouldn't suddenly develop these panics in 2020 when I'm mostly better. If this was going to happen from anxiety, it would have happened 18 months ago. I had the about the most severe anxiety possible, yet not a single ER visit.

Btw while I'm not in top shape, it's far better than you think. I take a lot of several mile hikes in hilly terrain near where I live. Come to Los Angeles sometime and I'll show you.

Oh cool, it’s another thread where Druff tells us he’s sick and then argues incessantly that he isn’t.
It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

I envisioned Druff wearing a N95 Respirator Mask on his hikes in Los Angeles long before coronavirus was a thing.

Which was a smart thing to do btw

I agree with bottomset. After reviewing the symptoms, this could very well be the early symptoms of ALS or even perhaps Lyme disease. I take no pleasure in saying this, but you should be setting up an appointment with a renowned neurologist ASAP.

That rash post hike was tick bite and you have been suffering with Lyme ever since. Get the test nerd.

I'll bet anyone 5:1 odds that I don't have Lyme disease.

That is, you'll get $5 for my $1 if you win.

Let me know who wants action & I'll take the test. I've never been tested for it so I'm not hiding info or angling.

Probably not Lyme but seems like you really have no idea what's going on. You speak decisively as if you have certainty, which is on brand but foolish.

I've been there too; I had bad anxiety for a few years. Even went into urgent care during the worst panic attack of my life.

No idea what has changed as the same stressors remain, I guess I just got better at framing it. Blood pressure went from slightly elevated to now well within a normal range.

Anything could be in when you're nearing 50 and overweight, so best to keep an open mind

Glad that mouth rinse seems to work. Anxiety blows!

I've been to ER before for a bad panic attack. Thought I was having heart issues. Wasn't. Since then anxiety comes and goes. Haven't had any issues since October but last summer early fall I was taking xanax on a daily basis. It wasn't a good time. I know it'll be back at some point but getting better with dealing with it. Anxiety does indeed blow. You don't fully understand it until you've had it yourself and I'm not talking about getting nervous I'm talking about hot water burn baby attack.

Yeah I had past ones that almost served as a crescendo to a stressful event, but went in immediately when I had the worst of them because it hit me out of nowhere.

Was still a problem after that. Still get stressed like we all do but something must have shifted because I can carry it better now. No idea what changed and don't care.

My read on druff the first day of this thread wasn’t he was having an anxiety attack and panicked and want to ER. I get why people think that, but it didn’t feel like that to me. When he was going through his issues before, I could tell he was down a very dark hole where he couldn’t get a diagnosis and was in that anxiety/depression vicious cycle. It felt palpable having been there myself. Many of us have at some point .

I mean, if you’re prone to anxiety it can cause a host of issues. Just having low level general anxiety when you spend a lot of time at the computer or an office desk can manifest in shit like that just from being tense for anyone. So I can believe he has some general anxiety that may be making him tense and adding to or exacerbating some existing posture problem or something. That’s possible. That’s possible if you just have a stressful job and sit a lot for people without any anxiety disorder.

I don’t buy he was having any kind of panic attack and ran to the ER thinking he had a heart attack. The druff from a few years back couldn’t have been playing limit Holdem an hour after they cleared him. When you’re in that headspace you don’t take the doctors word for anything. You convince yourself they’re wrong and panic more. I didn’t get that vibe from his posting that day.

Betting on sports and playing poker is stressful like guys sitting around trading stocks all day is stressful. There is a lot of overlap in being tense and things hurting. It’s a bit chicken and egg. When he started this thread I didn’t think to myself druff is having an anxiety attack and overreacting. I think it was pretty obvious when he was having bad anxiety before.

He thought he’d never play another hand of poker. Not playing in a hospital bed an hour later. This struck me more as pain in areas that could be something, so he went and got it checked out as he stated. That’s normal concern that subsided the moment the doctor said he was ok. I believe he has said he has hereditary high blood pressure or cholesterol or something along those lines previously. Getting left side pain checked out with that seems rational to me.

Druff talked about his left shoulder hurting and felt it happened in his sleep.

My right shoulder has hurt for a couple of weeks. Absolutely believe I hurt it in my sleep. I pretty much remember the morning I woke up wounded.

My dentist just told me I’m grinding my teeth at night. Had no idea. This is new. Bought a mouth guard and destroyed it. Amazing.

The stress ain’t new... my getting older is.

None of us sleep as deep as we used to. The aging thing I guess. Which isn’t a great thing cause I am well aware NOTHING is more important to health than restorative sleep.

How do you get better deeper sleep? I need to work on that.

I’ll say this, I have learned a lot from the posts about TRT and anxiety etc.

Whatever his AIDS are/were, tor think that a 'mouth rinse' is the panacea is laughable.

The docs clearly realized that simply coating his throat with saline satisfied his WebMD detective work, which lessened his anxiety and made him a manageable patient.

The placebo effect is a real phenemenon, and they likely bled him financially to get him there.

But he feels better so no harm, no foul. All in the game.
