Peppermill Casinos Drawings rigged in Wendover Nevada?????

So me and the wife are in Wendover this weekend for the Rainbow Casino 25th Anniversary Celebration. There are 3 casinos in Wendover under the Peppermill umbrella and they share the same loyalty card.
So far this weekend they have had 5 drawings where 5 or 6 cardholders are "randomly" chosen by the computer to receive $500 freeplay and 1 or 2 more are drawn for $1000 cash. This is for each drawing. There 3 more scheduled for tomorrow in addition to the grand prize drawing of a car. We noticed that one name was drawn at least 4 times (and possibly all 5 times). Another name was drawn at least twice that we noticed but chalked that up to random coincidence. I mentioned this to one of the slot hosts and she said it wasn't unusual but that she would discuss with higher ups. Does anyone else find this to seem "not random at all".
I mean what are the odds this would happen that many times in a row when we are talking thousands of player accounts.

Druff a phone call about this to Peppermill Management would be quite entertaining. Would like to hear their explanation. I can provide name of a person in management in Wendover if you care to dig into this. I also have the name of the luckiest woman I have ever heard of but would serve no purpose posting here.

The thought that our home casino is possibly rigging contests is pissing us off and it's nice to have this forum to vent. We are conflicted over whether we should take any further action or just let it go.

Seems like a promo where the more you gamble, the more entries you get and someone gambled a shitload more than anyone else.

    Probably.

Casino drawings are very shady in general. Nevada law says they can't be rigged, but they can be pseudo-rigged to where most people have about zero point zero chance.

So it's illegal for them to predetermine a winner.

However, it's completely legal to award an insane number of free entries to people who gamble a lot, provided that everyone has the opportunity to also earn those entries if they gamble the same amount.

So if there's one high roller who is dwarfing everyone else in play, then they can almost guarantee he's the winner.

This can especially be accomplished if they top-load the entries, such as:

    - Earn 100 tier credits, get 100 entries
    - Earn 1000 tier credits, get 5000 entries
    - Earn 10,000 tier credits, get 100,000 entries
    - Earn 100,000 tier credits, get 5,000,000 entries
    - Earn 250,000 tier credits, get 50,000,000 entries
    - Earn 1,000,000 tier credits, get 5,000,000,000 entries

So the guy with five billion entries might very well have the majority of entries in the game, especially in a smaller casino.

I actually benefited from this at Harrah's Rincon in 2015, when they ran a tier-credit-related promo on a dead weekday. I was the only one hammering high stakes video poker, and not surprisingly, I was called up to do their promo game. I think I won $500.

With that said, perhaps one of my characters will call them up on radio tomorrow night.

The car drawing is based on how many virtual tickets you earned. But the other drawings were advertised as being random and "appear" to be based on your card number but I would love to hear an official answer. I'll take a photo of the shuffling being shown on all the big screens today prior to the drawings along with the name of the lady so your character appears to be legit. We'll be in chat tonite listening. Can't wait. Will be fun. Thanks Druff.

Edit: I looked up their flyer posted on wendoverfun.com and you are right as usual.

Cash & Free Play Drawings all Weekend
Earn drawing entries starting now thru February 23, 2020 at 5:30pm at all three Resorts.
    Friday 8pm & 11pm / Saturday 5pm, 7pm & 9pm / Sunday noon, 2pm, 4pm & 6pm
Grand Prize 2020 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD Sunday at 6pm.
Guaranteed $1,000 Cash winner during each drawing
Customers must be present to win ALL drawings.

BUT still feels shady and could make for a fun call.

By the way, I don't know if they do this shit in Wendover, but at California Indian casinos (such as the Rincon), they are notorious for giving away "new cars" and then privately browbeating the customer into taking a much inferior cash settlement instead.

This is because the casinos don't always pre-buy the car for the contest (even if it's sitting on display). They will sometimes only buy the car AFTER the customer agrees to take it instead of a lesser cash payout.

The customer wins, and the casino managers will say, "You realize this car will depreciate the second you drive the first mile, right? You realize you will be taxed at the full retail value of the car, as if it's income, right? Do you really need another car? You'll actually come out ahead if you simply accept this lesser amount of cash, and keep your own car."

If the customer tries to say they want the car anyway, they will keep pressuring them to take the cash. If the player outright refuses and says they want the car, the casino will often passive-aggressively make it difficult to collect, such as forcing them to go down to the dealership to get it, "losing" the paperwork, and basically throwing up every obstacle possible.

In one case a few years ago, the casino stalked the winner (who demanded the car) for every moment she was there on property, and found evidence that she let her sister run a little play on her card. They disqualified her completely at that point as punishment for refusing the cash settlement.

Now, they won't do this shit if the winner is indeed a huge whale they don't want to alienate, but to everyone else, they will.

But I don't know about Wendover.

Wendover is a weird market. It's aimed at the Salt Lake City market, as that's the closet gaming area to SLC, and it's a drivable distance (120 miles). However, it's a small town, and the casinos are highly cooperative and paranoid regarding anyone beating them. Wendover was notorious for quickly ejecting all card counters from not just one property, but from the entire city's casinos.

While Wendover is in Nevada and falls under the jurisdiction of the fairly strong Nevada Gaming Commission, I imagine they feel they can get away with more shenanigans, given its isolation and distance from everything else in Nevada.

This shit happens all the time where some big player’s name is called multiple times. Nothing to see here.

My good friend won a car errr pickup at a casino but it wasn't a draw it was the car spins in the middle of machines and you play for a chance to hit 3 cars.

Any way he kept the car because his only way to the casino was if he got a ride lol

With some drawings the amount of tickets you receive is based on action. For instance, you may get a ticket for every $100 worth of bets you make. These kind of drawings can be exploitable generally if there is no limit on the amount of times you can get called. You have to judge up the clientele see what everyone is playing, what you can play, and determine if you can dominate the drum.

At these type drawings people can get pissed hearing the same names getting called. They're all yelling "Fix! Fix!" Thats the thing about these kinds of drawings. Players that don't know whats going on get pissed at the same names being called. Casino personnel usually see that it causes PR problems and redesign the drawing.

Bob Dancer used to play these type drawings regularly at the Palms.
