Regardless of one's position on vaccines, masking, or COVID, I'm surprised anyone is still trying to make the case that suppression of COVID debate was a good and just thing to do.
It's like people in the 2020s are dumb enough to believe that misinformation and incorrect information weren't problems of generations past when free speech was studied and repeatedly upheld in this country.
Misinformation is a side effect of free speech. There is no such thing as, "I support free speech except when it's misinformation". This is because today's misinformation might be tomorrow's correct information, so it is always important to never suppress opposition speech on public platforms.
Nothing should have been flagged as misinformation. I don't think a blue haired employee that voted for Biden and majored in liberal arts is qualified to flag something as misinformation.
