There isn't a shred of evidence that the vaccine was more damaging to people my age (49 at the time) than original/Delta COVID. Not only wasn't it more damaging, it wasn't even close. You were at far more risk from COVID in your late 40s, both for death and non-death adverse events (such as lung damage).
To state anything else at this point makes you look like a retard.
There were indeed some vaccine cover-ups, from the serious (myocarditis) to the alarming but harmless (women's period disruptions). The myocarditis thing was the worst because it affected a demographic (boys & young men) which were highly unlikely to experience bad COVID outcomes.
However, myocarditis was not an issue for people my age, but COVID itself very much was. I personally knew 5 people under 60 who died of COVID (one was as young as 44) in 2020-21, all of whom had it before the vaccine was available. I still know zero people who had long term adverse effects from the vaccine.
It is sad that this thread has turned into spam and moronic propaganda, when there's plenty of real and verified material which can be used to bash the left's handling of COVID.

The numbers speak for themselves. There was a small risk from the vaccine (much bigger than the media/left admitted, but still small), but the risk was far smaller than COVID itself. You can't even say, "Well, the vaccine had a lot of long term unknowns", because so did COVID. It was a matter of which was worse, and the comparison wasn't even close -- COVID was far riskier at my age.
It was also well established by the time I took it that almost no vaccinated middle aged people were dying of COVID. While the vaccines lost efficacy after 5 months, and while they eventually stopped preventing breakthrough infections very well, they still did very well preventing death or hospitalization, especially of non-elderly people.
You cannot argue with cold, hard data.
I say this to people on the left, as well. They still want us masking and taking all kinds of other idiotic COVID precautions, and again I remind them that 3 out of every million people under 65 are dying of COVID every month nowadays. It's now essentially the flu. Back in 2020-21, it was a different story.
