You live in one of 4 or 5 states that even require kids to be vaccinated. If your kid is attending Portland City High, you can opt out for religious or personal belief reasons. Same in Seattle.
You go to SC, with its current construction, they’re going to kick it back to the states. Some states like Connecticut are reversing theirs this year because Covid, but you do something federally, you’re essentially giving Trump or whomever 400 EV’s next election.
Businesses can, but at a nearly 50% mong population, you’re giving up a lot of business if you don’t own a Whole Foods.
United just required vaccination, and the other airlines were like fuck no.
It’s amazing hospitals just are, but that’s in CA, and I assume most are short staffed already in more red areas.
As Daly said, insurers making it so expensive to employ unvaccinated is really the main path.
Even if you’re a foreign country, with low virus numbers and high vaccination, you are giving up every American $ and Trump or whomever runs on embargo France or whomever next election.
It’s trickier than just doing it for everyone except employers in niche industries or local restaurants in LA and Manhattan.
