Back in the day you could never enter a casino with a mask. Guys at the poker table would pull up a turtle neck, wear a scarf over their mouth, cinch their hoodie up over their mouth.
Now you can wear a big ass mask like a bank robber with impunity.
I am confounded why Druff and other poker players are thrilled at the prospect of not wearing one and playing others who do. It’s information.
Just a spectator but I don’t get it.
The muffled words wouldn’t be good for the game

Live tells aren't what most people think they are. And where they exist, they more have to do with betting speed, table talk, body posture, chip placement, etc.
At limit holdem, they're not particularly important. Admittedly, at the WSOP about 40% of the events I play are NL holdem, but still, I can do fine without a mask where others have them on. And I can always put one on if I'm feeling like I'm giving something away. Being forced to wear one and being able to wear one are two very different things.
I can guarantee you that my being uncomfortable for 10 hours of play at the WSOP will be more detrimental to my game than any tells I might be hiding under a mask.
One of my favorite WSOP "live tell" stories was where I had top set on the flop in limit, and an ace hit the turn, and I was pretty convinced my sole opponent had an ace. I did a perfect start-to-bet-hesitate-then-bet when the ace hit, as if I were making a motion to bet, saw the ace, considered not betting, and then bet anyway. Opponent took the bait and raised me. I 3-bet him. River I bet, he raised me. Turned out he had a gutshot straight draw, decided to bluff the turn because my pump-fake really made him think I hated that ace, and then got there with the 4-outer. Brutal. If only I had a mask on!
Glad you posted this.
I hate to break it to you, but you're pushing a right wing narrative here. Your side is married to the idea that it occurred in wet markets, because otherwise Trump doesn't look all that bad for calling it the "China Virus."
Once Trump takes a position, the left forces themselves to oppose it, no matter how absurd their arguements have to be. In this case, the lab wasn't always obvious, but it's hilarious watching lefties still dismiss this idea as conspirtard ramblings.
relying on overtly racist, xenophobic rhetoric to inflame a populist base's emotions is a sucker move and could do more or less irreparable diplomatic damage during an international crisis. which, you are right, is a very right wing brand.
that the left once again had to rely on the softer public line to keep things from blowing completely out of control is unfortunate. but its nice that with grownups and experts in charge once again, we can start to have normal, rational conversations about this stuff.

IT'S A SUPER SERIOUS PANDEMIC VIRUS, IT'S A LITERAL GLOBAL PANDEMIC AND WE'RE IN THE LITERAL MIDDLE OF IT!!!
rofl team SCIENCE!
Wait what? I've never bought the wet market theory as gospel. Seemed plausible but the lab leak theory always seemed more likely.
Most importantly, if we do prove it came from the lab, what are we gonna do about it? 600k+ dead Americans deserves a strong response and I'm not talking about giving China a talking to.

thats not at all what i said. my words were clear and chosen with honest intent.
this is a bad faith attempt to regain face because once again you went to bat for a bunch of emotionally and intellectually crippled retards and it went badly.
but ill give you points for doing it well if its going to help you get over this and move on.

I'll give you the same challenge I give everyone here on the left who makes a claim which defies what most of their party thinks.
If picked an active, mainstream Facebook left-leaning group of 1000+ members, and posted a poll if there's a reasonable possibility that COVID came from a Wuhan lab, what % would vote yes?
You realize that your party is so committed to the "it definitely wasn't a lab" narrative that a very high percentage of your voters believe that's just a crazy right wing conspiracy theory. Congrats for breaking from that mold, I guess, but I don't think you should be very happy about your leaders lying to you for the sake of supposedly "preventing xenophobia".
Oh and regarding anti-Asian hate crime, I think we all know which race is committing most of that, and it's not white people.
But hey, if you guys would like to increase the penalties for violent crime across the board, my party is all for it!
I have no idea what you're talking about.
The whole way, the right was doubting the "wet market" story, and rightfully so. While we didn't have proof that it was from a lab, common sense pointed to that being at least a serious possibility.
Your side wouldn't give this any credibility, supposedly to "prevent xenophobia". This was a bizarre time to suddenly become so concerned about anti-Asian hate crimes, since we've been dealing with the problem for more than 30 years, and in fact we saw plenty of evidence of the real problem during the 1992 LA riots.
However, your side had to make it look like Trump was the horrible orange racist stoking anti-Asian violence, so they had to do all they could to make China look as innocent as possible. I'll be glad to post that Facebook poll I talked about above, if you doubt me.
Most of the sheep in your party honestly believe the "lab" theory is Alex Jones level crazy.

How is it a dumb point of argument?
Frequently on PFA, it goes like this:
I present a ridiculous thing that most idiotic liberals believe.
The PFA leftist brain trust comes back and insists that I'm wrong, and that very few liberals actually believe such nonsense.
I offer to post a poll on a large, mainstream liberal Facebook group, so as to get an honest assessment of what Demcrats really believe. I even offer to bet on the results.
Nobody accepts my offer, and they come back with excuses like, "Well, Facebook liberals don't represent mainstream liberals" (lol).
If you'd like to suggest another online group of liberals where we can post such polls instead of Facebook, I'm open to it. I think you'd be pretty embarrassed if you saw the type of dumb shit that the majority of your "party of science and facts" believes.
