    Regarding influenza:

    • All indicators of influenza activity remain exceptionally low for this time of year, despite continued monitoring for influenza across Canada.
    • To date, there is no evidence of community circulation of influenza; however, influenza testing continues at elevated levels. Three laboratory detections of influenza were reported in weeks 51 to 53.

Two reasons this obv., distancing and masks. Itís laughable to hear people question mask usage when so little effort is required. Itís like challenging the six foot distance rule as nonsense.

It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

So many of these "researchers" continue to have a very poor understanding of the true cause of high infection -- lots of people together indoors, with or without masks.

The big question is if the people dying are ones who are refusing to take the vaccine.

If the answer is "yes", then tough luck. They are knowingly taking the risk, and coming out on the wrong side of it.

I want to see how many damaging COVID infections are hitting the already fully vaccinated. My guess is "very very few".

The flu transmits somewhat differently than COVID, and is also less contagious.

So yes, if we do all of the extreme distancing, the masking, and the COVID-useless cleaning, that actually does bring the flu numbers down.

But it's also a shitty way to live, especially for something like the flu which only very rarely does permanent damage to healthy young and middle aged adults. COVID is different because it permanently damages (and sometimes kills) a lot of middle aged people, including some healthy ones.

There have been 74 deaths from Covid out of the first 78 million fully vaccinated. 5800 positive tests.

So basically 1 in a million so far, with probably most of them being old, right?

    Those are damn good numbers.

As far as death. Surprisingly of the 74, it said 40% over 65. Thought it would be higher, but with a number that low, it could be almost anything when it’s one of a million.

This isn’t article I read, but appears the same on quick glance

Not sure what you mean. My point is no one with any sense is challenging the six foot rule. Whether it’s 6 or 9 feet inconveniences no one to a great degree nor does wearing a mask.

Influenza is still a virus transmitted between people so distancing obv. helps as it does with Covid. Masks may not be as effective but the cost for the added protection is almost none.

or maybe, just maybe every flu case has been labeled covid

"Since there are few people who die from COVID-19 in Norway, the risk of dying after vaccination with the AstraZeneca vaccine would be higher than the risk of dying from the disease, particularly for younger people," says Bukholm.

In addition, there is reason to assume that there is scepticism about using the AstraZeneca vaccine in Norway, and it is uncertain how many people would have accepted an offer of this vaccine now

    BASED NORWAY KEEPING IT REAL.

surprised this is allowed to be on the internet, considering it's a white supremacist qanon conspiracy theory!

The CDC reduced the distancing guidelines from 6ft to 3 ft. That's what i mean, eh?

There's no doubt that some of the early flu deaths (especially among old people) were attributed to COVID, especially how they back-counted a lot of people who were found dead in their homes who had died too long ago to test for COVID.

Keep in mind that the flu kills as many as 80,000 in a year in the US (the vast majority being old), and it's not hard to believe that some old people with a bad flu chose not to get medical attention due to fear of COVID.

With that said, it's pretty obvious that the flu numbers were so low because of the social distancing, masking, and cleaning. Ironically, these measures SUBSTANTIALLY help with preventing the flu, yet are far less effective for COVID (despite what the media/left tells you).

    The flu:
    - Transmits on surfaces
    - Transmits in droplets
    - Isn't as contagious as COVID

    COVID:
    - Does not seem to transmit on surfaces (or if it does, it's super rare)
    - Transmits in droplets
    - Likely transmits most in aerosol
    - Is far more contagious than the flu, especially indoors

So if you clean surfaces and cover your mouth with a mask, that stops most of the flu transmission, and what little isn't stopped is usually prevented by staying 6 feet away!

However, this does relatively little for COVID, as much of the transmission is by aerosol in indoor environments, and that makes cloth masks only moderately useful, and also makes social distancing less useful. The cleaning for COVID is basically useless.

Strangely, our COVID prevention tactics were insufficient (yet talked up by Democrats and the mainstream media), yet actually WERE effective against the flu, and it makes sense!

    SCIENCE!!!
