Regarding when it's safe to see him, I would wait until he gets a negative test AND has no symptoms (except loss of smell/taste, as that can linger a long time after the virus is gone).

Eric Bensamochan tested negative about 5 days ago. Master Scalir is still testing positive after over a month! Neither have symptoms anymore, and neither case was all that bad.

Thanks Druff. His wife tested positive today but kids were negative so still concerned how it will all shake out. Wondering if Scalir is still contagious if still testing positive. So frustrating how there are so many differing opinions out there when supposedly we are following the science. Isn't science supposed to be agreed upon by the scientists? But what do I know--I never went to college to learn this shit!

So, in the last few months I have spent 15-40 hours/week in crowded supermarkets, always wearing a mask. Never caught Covid that I noticed, nor did I transfer it to any family/friends that I noticed. My wife spends 40+ hours/week in a healthcare setting being exposed to lots of Covid patients. She is wearing a mask and facemask at all times. Same story as far as never getting Covid that she noticed.

Given how things have blown up where I live (LA County) seems impossible we weren't exposed. The most likely explanation is that masks really work, either in blocking transmission or making the transmitting dose so low it didn't cause noticeable sickness.

If we follow the mask skeptic logic, clearly you’re now donning a mask and attending parties every night and drinking in bars with your false sense of security. Or you are like anyone else and saying, glad I’m getting through this and I’ll still exercise basic caution. The false sense of security people are like Ken, who once on radio admitted he took his mask off. Not to say you can’t get it with mask. You certainly can. Your risk of infection, and particularly serious infection is clearly lower.

The mask skeptics can’t cite one horrible giant cluster of cases where everyone had a mask on. They can cite instances of a person or a couple of people tops.
